ED has raided 20 locations in Jharkhand.
ED action has intensified ahead of Jharkhand assembly elections. The ED has raided 20 locations since Monday morning, including the capital Ranchi and Chaibasa. According to information, the ED raided the house of PS Harendra Singh of Mithilesh Thakur, Minister of Water and Sanitation in the Hemant Soren government.
Along with this, the house of minister's brother Vinay Thakur and IAS Manish Ranjan and several engineers have also been raided. The raids are related to irregularities in the water-life mission.
Raids have been conducted in Harihar Singh Road, Indrapuri and Ratu Road in Ranchi. At present, the security system has also been increased at all the places raided.
ED has raided 20 places, including the house of Minister Mithilesh Thakur's PS Harendra Singh.
Raids were also conducted on 8th October
Even 6 days before today's action, ED conducted raids in Jharkhand. Last Tuesday, the ED team conducted raids in the capital Ranchi and Dhanbad. The ED raided the house of Dhanbad DTO CP Diwakar Dwivedi in Zadudih's Dev Bihar apartment in Sadar police station area of Dhanbad city. Apart from this, the ED also raided Radhe Krishna Garden at Bariatu in Ranchi. The matter was related to recovery in the name of ED.
On October 8, the ED raided the residence of Dhanbad DTO CP Diwakar Dwivedi at Dev Bihar Apartment in Dhanbad.
A minister is already embroiled in a scam
Earlier, a Jharkhand government minister, Alamgir Alam, was involved in a cash scam. Currently former Jharkhand government minister Alamgir Alam is in jail in a cash scam case. On May 6, the ED raided the house of his PS Sanjeev Lal and his associates. In which cash of 32 crore 20 lakh rupees was found. During the interrogation, the minister, PS Sanjiv Kumar Lal and his servant Jahangir Alam were arrested late on May 6 in the case.
The minister was arrested on May 15
Minister Alamgir Alam was arrested by the ED on the evening of 15 May. Earlier, he was interrogated for a total of 14 hours on May 14 and 15. Later, ED produced him in court. Where the ED told the court that an organized gang of engineers, officials and ministers were active in the tender commission scam in the rural development department.
The ED also produced a sample paper in the court detailing the details of 25 tenders worth Rs 92 crore passed in January, which clearly states that Minister Alamgir Alam was paid Rs 92 crore as commission in all 25 tenders. 1.23 crores were received.
