'Constitution saw the emergency and faced it': Modi said – this is its strength, Constitution Day was celebrated for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Supreme Court on Tuesday evening in a program organized on the occasion of Constitution Day. He released the Indian Judiciary Annual Report 2023-24 here.

PM said in his address – We have seen emergency in the country. Our Constitution has faced this challenge to democracy. The strength of this constitution is that today Babasaheb Ambedkar's constitution is fully implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Constitution Day is being celebrated for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir today.

He said that this is the 75th year of Indian Constitution. This is a matter of great pride for the country. I salute the Constitution and all the members of the Constituent Assembly. We cannot forget that today is also the anniversary of the terrorist attack in Mumbai.

PM said – People who lost their lives in this attack. I pay my respects to him. I would also like to reiterate the country's resolve that all terrorist organizations challenging India's security will be met with a jaw-dropping response.

On Tuesday itself, a special program was held in the Central Hall of the Old Parliament on the completion of 75 years of the Constitution of the country. President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhard, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were also present in it. The theme of the program was Our Constitution, Our Self-Respect.

In this event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi were seen sitting together on the same platform for the first time. Apart from this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, BJP President JP Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker Harivansh were also present.

A coin and postage stamp were also issued on the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. Copies of the Constitution in Sanskrit and Maithili were also issued. 2 books 'Making of the Indian Constitution: A Glimpse' and 'Making of the Indian Constitution and its Glorious Journey' were released.
