Chennai Air Show Death Case: Tamil Nadu Minister said- 40 ambulances, two teams of doctors were also deployed; 5 died in a crowd of 15 lakh

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramaniam said that the state government had provided all facilities during the air show in Chennai. More facilities were provided than what the Indian Air Force had demanded.

Subramaniam said that two medical teams with doctors and nurses were deployed at the spot. Besides this, 40 ambulances were also standing. He also said that a paramedical team and drinking water have also been arranged at the Marina Beach.

An air show was held in Chennai on 6 October before the 92nd Foundation Day of the Indian Air Force on 8 October. 1.5 million people gathered at the Marina Beach to witness this. Due to overcrowding and heat, five people died, while more than 200 people were rendered unconscious. Its name has been included in the Limca Book of World Records due to the large crowds that thronged to watch the air show.

About 1.5 lakh people came to watch the air show at Chennai's Marina Beach.

There is no water system at the air show, there is a stampede at the railway station According to several media reports, people who went to watch the air show said that there was no drinking water facility on the beach. People sat thirsty for hours. At the same time, after the show ended at 1 am, people left the venue en masse, causing traffic jams on the roads. There was a stampede at the local railway station due to heavy crowding. Similar crowds were seen at different metro stations.

After the air show was over, the road was jammed as people left the Marina Beach.

The biggest attraction point of the show was the Harvard T-6G Texan aircraft used in the First World War. The Indian Air Force used Harvard as an intermediate trainer until 1974.

Heritage aircraft like Advanced Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, Sarang, Sukhoi 30 MKI, C17, C-295, Apache, Light Combat Helicopter Prachanda, Dakota also participated in the show.

It was placed in Chandigarh in 2022.

The Air Force chief said – the goal is to make all weapons in India by 2047 In a press conference ahead of Air Force Day, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said that India needs to overtake China in terms of technology and speed in manufacturing military equipment.

He also said that the Air Force aims to manufacture all its weapons in India by 2047 under the indigenization programme.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is expected to produce 24 Tejas light combat aircraft per year to make up for supply delays.
