Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren today took oath as minister in place of Champai Soren. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to him. CM Hemant Soren was also present in this program. Ramdas Soren has been MLA twice from Ghatshila assembly seat. The party has already entrusted him with the responsibility of district president of Jamshedpur. Ramdas has been included in the cabinet for the first time. Why Ramdas after Champai Soren? JMM does not want to weaken itself in Kolhan, that is why after Champai efforts are being made to field a strong leader from Kolhan itself. Ramdas is an old leader, also associated with the Jharkhand movement. In such a situation, Champai's joining the BJP will work to strengthen the party in Ramdas Kolhan. He has been assigned this responsibility under this strategy. Apart from East and West Singhbhum, there is no other senior leader in the party in Saraikela-Kharsawan district. They have a strong identity in tribal society. Ramdas played an active role in the Jharkhand movement along with Shibu Soren and Champai Soren. Many cases were registered against him during the agitation. What did Ramdas say about Champai? Before taking the oath, Ramdas Soren said, 'I have never made any claim for this post on my own behalf. I have always discharged the responsibility entrusted to me by the party with integrity and will continue to discharge this position in the same manner. Our fight was and will be for water, forest and land. He said about Champai, 'He is a great leader, we spent a lot of time together during the Jharkhand movement. The party gave him full respect from the beginning, no doubt. He was an MLA six times, a minister three times and was also given the chair of Chief Minister. He should have thought once about the step he has taken.
