Bomb threats were received again on Saturday in 33 flights of Indian Airlines. In this way, more than 300 domestic and international flights have received bomb threats in 13 days. However, on investigation, all these were found to be false.
On the other hand, the central government has taken a strict stand regarding these threats. The IT Ministry issued an advisory in the evening, telling social media platforms that if they do not remove such false information immediately, the immunity granted to them under the IT Act will be revoked. The ministry said that such information must be removed immediately and this information must also be given to the concerned authorities.
Airlines services have been badly affected due to the current threat to planes. The aviation ministry has suffered a loss of over 600 crores.
So far two arrests have been made in the bomb threat case
Delhi Police on Saturday detained a 25-year-old man who made a false bomb threat on a flight. According to police, 25-year-old Shubham Upadhyay posted two false bomb threats on a flight at IGI Airport on October 25. During interrogation, he said that he had done this to become foamy.
Earlier, the Mumbai Police had detained a 17-year-old minor from Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon. He had a dispute with his friend over money. He created an X account in his friend's name and falsely posted that there was a bomb on Flight 4 on October 14.
The number of fake threats on flights crossed 300 in 13 days
On Saturday, 33 flights received a bomb threat. Indigo, Air India and Vistara have 11 flights each. Along with this, more than 300 flights in the country have received bomb threats in the last 13 days. All these threats were given through social media.
