Girl dies after eating cake ordered online in Punjab: 4 members of family barely survive

A 10-year-old girl died after eating cake in Patiala, Punjab. Apart from this, the health of 4 other people also deteriorated. On the girl's birthday on March 24, the family ordered a cake online. The police registered a case against Kanha Cake at Adalat Bazar in this matter.

In Punjab's Patiala district, there was an investigation report on the death of a girl after eating cake on her birthday. The report revealed that the cake was made with synthetic sweetener. A large amount of saccharin was added to make the cake. According to District Health Officer Dr Vijay Jindal, saccharin is used in very limited quantities in food or any type of drink. If its dosage is increased, the blood sugar level in the body increases rapidly, which can also cause death. The health department has now asked to take action and levy a fine against New India Bakery, which manufactures cakes in this matter.
