Bomb threat, emergency landing of 25 flights yesterday: 90 planes received bomb threat in 7 days; Center removes DGCA chief

Threats to blow up passenger planes with bombs continue in the country. More than 25 flights received bomb threats on Sunday. According to news agency PTI, six aircraft each from IndiGo, Vistara and Air India were involved.

A day before that on Saturday more than 30 planes received threats. Due to which hundreds of passengers were disturbed for hours.

More than 90 planes have received bomb threats in the last one week. Later all these threats were proved false. Due to these threats, losses of up to 200 crore rupees have been caused so far.

The Union Home Ministry has sought a detailed report from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security in this regard. CISF, NIA and IB have also been asked to submit a report. Also, late in the evening the Union Personnel Ministry has removed DGCA chief Vikram Dev Dutt and made him Secretary in the Coal Ministry. This change is being linked to threat issues.

Also, after receiving 30 simultaneous threats, senior officials of airline companies met Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) officials. Bureau Director General Zulfiqar Hasan assured them that Indian skies are completely safe.

In a week Rs. 200 crore loss

A flight is landed at a nearby airport instead of its designated airport after receiving information that there is a bomb on board. Not only this consumes more fuel, the aircraft has to be re-checked, passengers are accommodated in hotels and arrangements have to be made to take them to their places.

According to a report, about 3 crore rupees have been spent on all this. This week, more than 70 domestic and international flights of Vistara, Air India, IndiGo, Acasa, SpiceJet, Star Air and Alliance Air have received threats.

Bomb threat on flights to London and Dubai

Late on Friday night, a bomb threat was issued to one flight each of Air India Express and Vistara Airlines. Out of which Vistara flight from Delhi to London was diverted to Frankfurt. When the Air India Express flight (IX-196) coming to Dubai Jaipur carrying 189 passengers made an emergency landing in Jaipur at 1:40 pm. Nothing suspicious was found in either plane during the investigation.

Mumbai Police has arrested a person

Mumbai Police has arrested a person for spreading false news of a bomb in a flight. He had threatened to plant a bomb on an IndiGo flight on October 14.

Delhi Police has registered 6 FIRs amid constant threats. On the other hand, the government has blocked 10 social media accounts falsely claiming that the plane had a bomb.

Identification of senders of threatening messages – Ministry of Aviation

On October 16, the aviation ministry responded to a parliamentary committee on sending threatening messages to airlines. The ministry said that the accused have been identified and action is being taken. It also said that more information is being collected and action is being taken on many such cases.

According to media reports, all cyber units have been instructed to track threatening social media accounts. Most of these accounts are being operated from abroad.

October 17: Bomb threat on Frankfurt-Mumbai Vistara flight

Vistara's Frankfurt-Mumbai flight UK 028 made an emergency landing in Mumbai. The threat was given on social media. The plane was flying over a Pakistani airspace when officials alerted the crew about the bomb threat.

October 16: Bomb threat to 7 Indian Airlines flights

Seven Indian Airlines flights received bomb threats, including four of IndiGo, two of SpiceJet and one of Akasa. During the investigation, all the threats were found to be false. However, security has been increased at all airports.

October 15: A man makes a threat, it all goes wrong Bomb threats are found on 7 flights. An Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago was also among the threatened flights. After this he was diverted to Canada. The plane landed at Iqaluit Airport in Canada. Passengers and their luggage were checked here.

October 9: Threatened tissue paper found on London-Delhi flight There was an uproar after reports of a bomb on Vistara Airlines flight UK18 from London to Delhi. About three and a half hours before the flight reached Delhi, a passenger found a threatening tissue paper in the plane's toilet. He reported this to the crew-member.
