A huge blast took place in Jabalpur's Ordnance Factory Khamria (OFK) on Tuesday morning. Two employees have died, while more than 10 have sustained burns. Two are in critical condition and have been admitted to a private hospital.
The factory management has reached the spot and started investigation. The blast took place in building number 200 of F-6 section of the factory. An employee was missing after the blast, whose body has been found. At the same time, another employee died during treatment.
The GM of Ordnance Factory Khamaria and other officials are present at the spot. However, officials are currently not sharing any information with the media. MLA of Cantt Assembly Ashok Rohani reached the hospital at Ordnance Factory Khamria to see the injured.
The employees injured in the blast have been admitted to OFK Hospital.
The blast occurred during the making of the bomb According to the information, bomb making was going on in the F-6 section of the factory. Meanwhile, there was a sudden explosion in the hydraulic system. After the incident, the injured employees were taken to OFK Hospital. Where the condition of employees Randhir, Shyamalal and Chandan became serious, they were referred to a private hospital. An investigation has been launched into how the blast took place and whose negligence is responsible.
Residents said it felt like an earthquake After the blast, it felt as if an earthquake had struck an area of about 5 kilometers adjacent to Ordnance Factory Khamria. People came out of the house. People living in Manegaon, Champanagar, Nanak Nagar also heard the blast. Manoj Thareja, who lives in Manegaon, says that at first it seemed that there was a strong earthquake, then it came to know that there was a blast in the factory.
