Bitter cold in Kashmir, mercury plunges to -3.4°: Snow alert for 3 days in Himachal, 36-year record broken in MP; Fog warning in 5 states

Due to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the effect of cold continues in the northern states of the country. Dense fog alert has also been issued in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and Haryana.

Five districts of Himachal Pradesh Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Kangra and Chamba are on snowfall alert for 3 days. These districts may see a drop in minimum temperature.

On the other hand, the cold is continuously increasing in Kashmir. Last night temperature in Pahalgam has reached minus 3.4 degrees. Temperature in Srinagar was recorded as minus 1 degree.

Due to snowfall in northern states, temperatures are also falling in Madhya Pradesh due to cold winds. November was the coldest month in Bhopal in 36 years. The temperature here has reached 8.2 degrees Celsius.

Due to snowfall in Kashmir, the cold has also increased in Jammu.

Every year by November 15, several feet of snow fell on the high mountains of Rohtang. This year it did not snow even till 30th November. However, it may snow here in 1-2 days.

Impact of Cyclone Fangal in Tamil Nadu, red alert for rain

A red alert for rain has been issued in several districts of Tamil Nadu due to the impact of Cyclone Fangal originating from the Bay of Bengal. Due to continuous rains for the last 4 days, a flood-like situation has occurred here. Schools and colleges have been closed in many districts. Several teams of NDRF and SDRF are deployed for rescue operations.

Coldest night of the season in Delhi

  • The coldest night of this season was recorded in Delhi 2 days ago i.e. on November 28. According to the IMD, the temperature on Thursday was recorded at 10.1 degree Celsius. Earlier, 10.2 degree Celsius was recorded on November 21 night and 10.4 degree Celsius on November 27.
  • Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius during the day, which was one degree above normal. This is the second lowest temperature of this season. The coldest day temperature was recorded on 19 November at 23.5 °C.

Madhya Pradesh is shivering due to icy winds. Many cities are experiencing cold weather like December-January. November has been the coldest month in Bhopal in 36 years. The temperature here has reached 8.2 degrees Celsius. While the mercury is below 7 degrees in Mandla and Shahdol.

Himachal Pradesh: Snowfall alert for 3 days, plains and mid-altitude areas will have clear weather

The tourist crowd is increasing in Shimla.

High mountains of Himachal Pradesh are likely to experience rain and snowfall for the next three days. Due to this the high peaks of five districts Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Kangra and Chamba may be covered with a white sheet of snow.
