Nitin Gadkari is a Lok Sabha MP from Nagpur. He is also involved in Maharashtra BJP's Assembly Election Management Committee.
Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a statement on the issue of rebels 11 days before the assembly election polls in Maharashtra. Gadkari was asked in an interview on Saturday about the rebels joining the BJP. In response to this, Gadkari said-
BJP is expanding rapidly. As crops grow, so do diseases. BJP has many good crops, which give good yield, but also bring some diseases. So we have to spray pesticides on such sick crops.
Gadkari said that new people are coming to BJP for different reasons. It is our responsibility to train them, inform them about the ideology and make them activists. Thousands of workers are standing, but sometimes one worker says something and the hard work of thousands of workers is lost.
Gadkari said- I have no role in Maharashtra
Gadkari was asked that after the defeat in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections, Nadda and Amit Shah held several meetings with Maharashtra BJP leaders, but they did not attend these meetings. In this regard, Gadkari said – I have no role in Maharashtra. The leaders here are competent. I will be there whenever they need me.
Gadkari further said in the interview that the government and administration should be secular. A person may be secular or not, but the state, government and administration should be secular. Apart from this, during an election rally in Arvi, Gadkari accused the Congress of not developing rural areas.
Gadkari said- Congress has never seriously thought about the development of rural India. If rural India had been given priority, farmers would not have committed suicide and there would have been no poverty in the villages. In India's 75-year history, Congress has consistently neglected the development of rural areas.
