Alert: Unknown virus could cause pandemic New public health emergency law required

  • Warning of the expert group formed on the issue of Covid in the country

Taking lessons from epidemics like Corona, a group of experts formed to face the disaster has given a new report. The group has suggested an action plan for disaster prevention through legislation, healthcare systems, surveillance and data management.

This group of experts of Niti Aayog has warned that there is a risk of outbreak of unknown pathogens (viruses) especially zoonotic i.e. animal, avian and livestock infected diseases. The threat of epidemics is due to global warming caused by increased international travel, increased traffic of live stock and increased population density, and climate change.

100 day mission plan

  • Experts have suggested an action plan for the epidemic.
  • Initiating infection, pathogen detection and tracking.
  • Diagnostic system developed
  • Making a vaccine.
  • Making treatments and medicines.
  • Deploying a Rapid Response Team on the first day.
