A rehearsal for the air show took place on 4 October, with the Army's aerobatic team performing in different formations.
The Indian Air Force is going to celebrate its 92nd foundation day on October 8. Earlier, an air show has been organized on October 6 at Chennai's Marina Beach. 72 aircraft including Rafale, Suryakiran and Sarang will perform in this show. A full dress rehearsal of the air show was also held on 4 October.
According to Air Vice Marshal K Premkumar, the Indian Air Force is preparing to register its name in the Limca Book of World Records. So the event is held at the Big Marina Beach. 15 lakh people are expected to watch the show.
The show will also include state-of-the-art light combat aircraft Tejas, light combat helicopters Prachand and heritage aircraft like Dakota and Harvard.

According to the Indian Air Force, 15 lakh people are expected to attend the show.

Air show is being held in Chennai after 21 years After 21 years, the flypast and aerial display show is taking place in Chennai. For the third time, the Indian Air Force has organized an air show outside Delhi on the foundation day. Last year, the show took place on 8 October 2023 at the Sangam area in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. 2022 was held in Chandigarh.
The Air Force chief said – the goal is to make all weapons in India by 2047 In a press conference ahead of Air Force Day, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said that India needs to overtake China in terms of technology and speed in manufacturing military equipment.
He also said that the Air Force aims to manufacture all its weapons in India by 2047 under the indigenization programme.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited should produce 24 Tejas light combat aircraft per year to compensate for supply delays.
