5 names in third list of Shiv Sena-Uddhav group: 85 candidates fielded so far, 223 out of 288 candidates declared in MVA

Shiv Sena (UBT) announced the list of 15 candidates on Saturday morning.

Shiv Sena's Uddhav faction announced the names of five more candidates late on Saturday night. The party has fielded Haroon Khan from Versova, Sanjay Bhalerao from Ghatkopar (West) and Sandeep Naik from Vile Parle.

Out of which Congress and NCP (SP) staked their claim on Versova and Ghatkopar West seats. While Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar's father Vinod Ghosalkar has been given ticket from Dahisar seat.

Former councilor Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot dead on the night of February 8, 2024. He was live on Facebook at the time of the incident. Maurice Noronha, accused of the attack, also committed suicide by shooting himself four times.

Uddhav wanted Abhishek's wife Tejashwi to contest from Dahisar seat. Abhishek's father and former MLA Vinod Ghosalkar was also seeking ticket from the same seat. For this reason the meeting was put on hold. Apart from this, the fifth name in the list belongs to Bhairulal Chaudhary Jain. He has been fielded from Malabar Hill Assembly.

The names of 223 out of 288 candidates have been announced so far in Mahayuti. There is a tug-of-war between the three parties regarding the remaining candidates.

15 names were announced in the second list Shiv Sena (UBT) announced the list of 15 candidates on Saturday morning. In which Anil Chaudhary was made a candidate from Shivdi Assembly. Lalbagh Raja Mandal Honorary Secretary Sudhir Salvi was also seeking tickets from here, but Anil Chaudhary's name was finalised.

Shiv Sena (UBT) has announced a total of 85 candidates so far. Under MVA's seat sharing, Uddhav group, NCP Sharad group and Congress will contest on 85 seats each. However, Sanjay Raut had said on October 24 that his party would contest on 100 seats.

The first list of Shiv Sena (UBT) had 65 names In MVA, Shiv Sena (UBT) announced the first list on October 23 evening. There were 65 names in it. Uddhav's son Aditya Thackeray has been nominated from Worli. Kedar Dighe was given ticket from Kopri Pachapakhadi against Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Single phase election on 20th November, results on 23rd November The term of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly ends on 26 November 2024. In Maharashtra, there is a coalition government of Shiv Sena, BJP and NCP Ajit Pawar group. Dividing the votes between the anti-incumbency and the six big parties will be a big challenge for the party.

Maharashtra 2019 Assembly Election Equation

  • In 2019, there was a BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. BJP won 105 and Shiv Sena 56 seats. NCP got 54 seats and Congress got 44 seats from the alliance. The BJP-Shiv Sena could have easily come to power, but the alliance broke down due to differences.
  • On 23 November 2019, Fadnavis was sworn in as Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister. But both resigned on 26 November 2019 before the majority test. On 28 November 2019, Mahavikas Aghadi of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress came to power. After this there was a rebellion between Shiv Sena and NCP and 4 parties were formed. Sharad and Uddhav got the lead in the Lok Sabha elections. Assembly elections will be held in all this background.
