The Madhya Pradesh government has increased the DA of government employees and officers by 4%. Seven and a half lakh employees will benefit from this. This decision will be effective from January 2024. Now DA of state employees has increased from 46% to 50%. With this they will get a profit of 620 to 5640 rupees per month. At the same time, Rs 6200 to Rs 56,400 will be available as arrears for 10 months.
On Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said, 'The state government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of all officers and employees. On the occasion of Diwali his wishes are doubled. November 1 is also the foundation day of Madhya Pradesh. Because of your dedication, hard work and positive thinking, you all have a special identity among the officers and employees of the entire country. Therefore, it is also the responsibility of the government to look after your interests.
You will get cash benefit from November salary Employees will start getting 4% additional cash benefit in DA from their November salary. Actually due to Diwali employees are being paid October salary early. For this reason the pay bills were also prepared quickly. This decision is likely to burden the government exchequer of Madhya Pradesh by Rs 1450 crore annually.
The balance status will be clear in the order The government is yet to open its cards on when and in how many installments the 10 months arrears will be paid to the employees. It is expected that the Finance Department will issue an order by this evening, which will clarify the situation. However, sources suggest that the remaining amount may be disbursed in four installments.
Still 3 percent behind the center Central employees currently get 53 percent dearness allowance. In Madhya Pradesh it was only 46 percent, which has now increased to 50 percent. But the difference in the dearness allowance between the central and state governments is still 3 percent. For a long time, the employee unions have been demanding an increase in dearness allowance. Demonstrations were also held for this.
Only 46% dearness allowance to pensioners The Madhya Pradesh government has given 4% DA to regular employees, but has not given relief to the state's 4.50 lakh pensioners. That means pensioners will still get only 46% dearness allowance. They are upset because they did not get the full benefit of the earlier inflation relief as well. The central government had given inflation relief of 4% from July 2023 and the Madhya Pradesh government from March 2024. Even these 8 months arrears have not been given to the pensioners.
