4 Army personnel killed in Sikkim: Army truck falls into 800 feet deep creek; Second such incident in 10 days

Four army personnel were killed in a road accident in Sikkim's Pakyong district on Thursday (September 5). Police said the accident took place while traveling from Padong in West Bengal to Zuluk in Sikkim. Three died on the spot, while one soldier died on the way to hospital. Those killed include Constable Pradeep Patel of Madhya Pradesh, CFN W Peter of Imphal, Naik Gursev Singh of Haryana and Subedar K Thangapandi of Tamil Nadu. Police said that an investigation is underway to find out the cause of the accident. The police said that the dead bodies have been handed over to the army. On August 27, an army truck fell into a ditch in Arunachal, 3 soldiers were killed. On August 27, an army truck fell into a deep ravine in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. In which 3 army soldiers were martyred and 4 people were injured. The deceased jawans have been identified as Havildar Nakhat Singh, Naik Mukesh Kumar and Grenadier Ashish. The Eastern Command of the army expressed grief over the death of the soldiers.
