18 people have drowned in the lake in different districts of Bihar. Out of which 14 people have died. Including 10 children. 8 children have died after drowning in a lake at two different places in Aurangabad. The search for one is on.
4 people drowned in Sone river in Bihta, Patna. A dead body of a girl was found in it. Search is on for 3 people. Also, 5 people, including a mother and daughter, have died due to drowning in separate incidents in Motihari. Tragedy has occurred while bathing in the lake on Jitiya festival in all the districts.
9 children drowned while bathing in Aurangabad, 8 died
The first case in Aurangabad is from Kushaha village in Madanpur block area, where 4 children went to bathe in the ahar (pond). Sonali Kumari (15) daughter of Virendra Yadav, Neelam Kumari (12) daughter of Jugal Kishore Yadav, Pankaj Kumar (8) son of Upendra Yadav, Rakhi Kumari (15) daughter of Saroj Yadav died due to drowning.
While the second case is from Ithut village in Barun police station area. Here 5 children went to bathe in the lake. Gautam Singh's two daughters Anku Kumari (11) and Nisha Kumari (10), Guddu Singh's daughter Chulbuli Kumari (12), Manoj Singh's daughter Lajo Kumari (10) died among the dead. The search for one is still on.
All the dead children have been brought to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

After the incident, the families of the deceased children are in mourning. A huge crowd of villagers gathered at both the incident sites. It is said that on Wednesday evening everyone went to take bath on the occasion of Jitiya Parva. Then they got stuck in the pit of the lake. Due to which 8 children died due to drowning.
SDRF team started search
4 people of Amanabad Halkoria Chak village of Bihta Police Station area drowned while bathing in the Son. A girl's body has been found, while a search is on for three people. The deceased has been identified as Anjali Kumari, daughter of Shivnarayan Rai of Amanabad village. Meanwhile SDRF team is searching for Lalita Devi, Soni Kumari and Teregani Kumari.
