The Central Election Committee (CEC) met at the Congress headquarters (Delhi) on Friday. Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala was also present along with President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Shiv Sena's Uddhav group has announced the second list of 15 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections. It has 4 big names. Ajay Chaudhary has been given ticket from Shivdi seat. Manoj Jamsutkar has been nominated from Byculla. Sandesh Parkar has been made a candidate from Kankawali seat. Shraddha Jadhav has been given ticket from Wadala seat.
Shiv Sena has announced 80 candidates so far. The party announced 65 candidates in the list released on October 23. All the MVA parties, including Shiv Sena's Uddhav group, are contesting on 85 seats each. The Uddhav group is yet to announce candidates for 5 more seats.
Candidates have to apply till 29th October. Congress will also announce the list of all its candidates by this evening. While giving this information on Friday, Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala said that there is no difference in the MVA.

Congress said- There will be consensus in MVA by evening
Congress will announce its full list of candidates for the Maharashtra elections by this evening. Also, the final agreement regarding seat distribution in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will be done by this evening. Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala gave this information.

MVA is contesting elections unitedly. There is no difference between us. The seat sharing is discussed when the alliance is formed, but the full list will be announced today.
Earlier on October 23, it was announced to contest elections on all three 85-85-85 seats. 18 seats were said to go to INDIA Samajwadi Party, SWP and other bloc parties including CPI(M). While the matter was stuck on 15 seats.
After this, the Congress announced its first list on the night of October 24. There were names of 48 candidates. The party retained 25 sitting MLAs in its first list. The party has fielded Praful Gudhe against Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis from Nagpur South-West.
Samajwadi Party (SP) demanded five seats, state party chief Abu Azmi said – if not given, we will contest on 25 seats
Samajwadi Party (SP) Maharashtra chief Abu Azmi has demanded five seats from the MVA. Azmi said the seat sharing should have been done before the elections as the MVA had already been formed. It is not right to have internal differences. SP is also in the alliance, but there has been no discussion on seats.
I have announced five seats. MVA should give me a seat. Sharad Pawarji has asked to wait till Saturday afternoon. I will wait, but if they don't include us, we will contest on 25 seats.
Earlier SP had asked for 12 seats. Besides, candidates for five seats were also announced.
First list of NCP (SP), 45 names
The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) aka NCP (SP) announced its first list for the Maharashtra assembly elections on Thursday evening. There were 45 names in it. The party has given ticket to Yugendra Pawar from Baramati. He is the nephew of Ajit Pawar. While Anil Deshmukh has got ticket from Katol, Jitendra Awad from Mumbra Kalwa and Jayant Patil from Islampur seat.
65 names in first list of Shiv Sena (UBT).
Shiv Sena (UBT) was the first to announce the list in MVA. The party announced the first list of 65 candidates on October 23 evening. Uddhav's son Aditya Thackeray has been nominated from Worli. Kedar Dighe was given ticket from Kopri Pachapkhadi against Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. 3 women have been given tickets in the list. Five seats are for SC and three for ST.
23 October, 182 names announced so far in Mahayuti
Ajit Pawar's faction NCP named 38 candidates in the first list on 23 October. There were names of 38 candidates. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar will contest from Baramati. It falls under the Baramati Lok Sabha seat which has been the traditional seat of Sharad Pawar. This time his daughter Supriya Sule won from here. Supriya defeated Ajit Pawar's wife Sunetra Pawar.
October 22: Shiv Sena announced the first list of 35 candidates
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will contest from Kopri Pachapakhadi. While Minister Uday Samant has been given ticket from Ratnagiri. Shinde revolted against the then Uddhav government in June 2022. He became Chief Minister with the support of BJP. In such a situation, this is the first assembly election under the leadership of Shinde.
October 21: The BJP released the first list of 99 candidates on October 21. Out of which six seats are for ST and four seats for SC. Women have been given tickets on 13 seats. There are 10 candidates who are contesting the elections for the first time. Three sitting independent MLAs have also been given tickets. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis will contest from south-west Nagpur and Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule from Kamathi.
Single phase election on 20th November, result on 23rd November
In Maharashtra, there is a coalition government of Shiv Sena, BJP and NCP Ajit Pawar group. Maintaining the division of votes between the anti-incumbency and the six big parties will be a major challenge for the party.

The Supreme Court on Thursday gave relief to the Ajit Pawar group ahead of the assembly elections in Maharashtra next month.
