1 crore Naxalite Sujata arrested from Telangana: Mastermind of Bastar attack; In which 176 jawans were martyred

Telangana Police has arrested a woman Naxalite named Kalpana alias Sujatha (age 60) with a reward of Rs 1 crore. She came to Mehbub Nagar in Hyderabad for treatment. Naxalite Sujata has been involved in more than 100 incidents in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur, Sukma, Dantewada districts.

Police said that Kalpana alias Sujata had reward in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. A key input can be obtained from the Naxalites during his interrogation. Sujata has also trained the dangerous Naxalite Hidma. Many women Naxalite organizations have also been formed.

However, Bastar Police has not released any statement regarding Sujata's arrest. Sujata left Bastar a long time ago. After this she lived in Telangana. She has held many posts including Divisional Incharge of South Bastar.

There is a reward of Rs 1 crore on female Naxalite Kalpana alias Sujata.

A conspiracy was hatched to carry out these major events

  • 9 July 2007: CRPF and district police personnel were returning to the base camp after searching in Urpalmetta, Arabor. After that the Naxalites ambushed and attacked. In which 23 jawans were martyred.
  • 6 April 2010: CRPF personnel went on a search in Bastar's Tadmetla. Naxalites detonated landmines. In which 76 jawans were martyred.
  • 17 May 2010: Naxalites attacked soldiers going from Dantewada to Sukma in a passenger bus by planting landmines near Gadiras in Dantewada. In which 36 people including 12 special police officers were killed.
  • 25 May 2013: Tribal leader Mahendra Karma, Congress Party State President Nand Kumar Patel, former Union Minister Vidya Charan Shukla and 32 people were killed in a Naxalite attack in Bastar's Khiram Ghati.
  • 24 April 2017: Naxalites attacked near Chintagufa in Sukma district. In which 25 CRPF jawans were martyred. During the attack, the soldiers were eating amid security during road construction.
  • 21 March 2020: DRG and STF personnel were searching in Chintagufa area of ​​Sukma district. Naxalites hiding near Korjaguda Hill opened fire on the soldiers from all sides. In which 17 jawans were martyred.
  • 3 April 2021: Naxalites attacked a joint party of security forces in Tekulgudem of Bijapur district. 21 jawans were martyred in this attack. A young Rakeshwar Manhas was abducted by Naxalites. He was later released.

Sujata is known by many names in the Naxal organization Sujata has many popular names in the Naxalite organization. She is called Padma, Kalpana, Sujata, Sujatakka, Jhansibai. In Bengal she is also known as Mainbai. Educated till 12th, Sujata knows English, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Telugu besides Gondi, Halbi.

Along with Kishanji came Bastar from Bengal Sujata is the wife of Naxalite leader Koteshwar Rao alias Kishanji. She came to Bastar from Bengal with Kishanji. After Kishanji was put in charge of Bengal, he stayed in Bengal for some time. He came to Bastar after Kishanji was killed in 2011.

Preparation of women's wing including Hidma Sujata is considered a hardcore Naxalite. Usually women Naxalites leave the organization after the death of their husbands, but Sujata did not surrender. His brother-in-law Sonu is a member of the Central Committee. Sonu's wife is also a Naxalite leader. It was Sujata who trained the Naxalite commander Madhvi Hidma. She has been instrumental in recruiting women into the organization.
