Comedian and YouTuber Tanmay Bhat recently took the internet by storm with his weight loss. Tanmay lost over 50 kilos and the buzz around his transformation grew after a 'men's fat loss coach', Abhi Rajput, posted a snippet of Tanmay's interview on X, where he shared tips that helped him in his journey to getting fit and can help you too.
How Tanmay Bhat lost weight
Recently Abhi Rajput posted Tanmay Bhat's before and after pictures on Instagram with the caption, “This is Tanmay Bhat's viral transformation. So let's find out how he lost 50+ kgs and it's not about diets. These 5 tips will change you from the inside out. The thread includes five tips picked up by Abhi from Tanmay's podcast with Kumar Varun, including creating a routine, prioritising health, building mental resilience, mastering the mind and more.
Taking Accountability and Making Health a Priority
Follow these tips, Tanmay said that health should be the number one priority in people's lives and it has become so for him. The comedian revealed that he dedicates two hours from his daily life to go to the gym and do an outdoor activity (badminton for him) and no one is allowed to disturb him during that time. Make a time block even for 20 minutes. Train 3-4 times per week. Play outdoor games.
Lifestyle changes and changing habits
In the second snippet, Tanmay shared how he has tried to lose weight all his life and has faced many ups and downs. Many will relate to this as we also face weight fluctuations due to many circumstances and not having a proper schedule. However, Tanmay overcame this hurdle in his weight loss journey by making lifestyle changes.
Developed a habit of playing badminton
The YouTuber said that he initially tried to follow the traditional routine of eating healthy, waking up early, going to the gym and lifting weights. However, when Tanmay realised that this was not something he enjoyed, he focused on the activity he loved – badminton. When he made playing badminton a habit, he practised 'habit stacking', where he stacked another habit on top of the activity he enjoyed. So, he decided that he would go to the gym and lift weights either before or after going to badminton class.
