The fast of Karva Chauth has special significance for every married woman, because it is associated with the long life and happiness and peace of her husband. Karva Chauth fast starts with Sargi in the morning and then women observe Nirjala fast for the whole day. They break their fast only after seeing the moon at night. It is often seen that during morning sargi, women eat oily, fried and sweet food, due to which their weight increases even after being hungry the whole day. Start with hydration
Since you are not going to drink water all day, start your day with a glass of warm lemon water or cumin water. These are great for metabolism and help cleanse your system before eating.

have fresh fruits
There must be fruits in your sargi plate. You can consume watermelon, papaya or apple etc. They are rich in fiber, vitamins and hydration, which will make you feel light and full. They also help in digestion and satisfy your sweet cravings.
Protein Rich Foods
To avoid feeling very hungry throughout the day, eat protein rich foods like Greek yogurt or low fat cheese during Sargi. If you feel like eating something hot, then you can have moong dal cheela or besan cheela. With this you will feel energetic the whole day even during fasting.
take healthy fats
Fat helps keep you satisfied and the energy burns slowly, so you don't feel tired. Instead of fried foods, add almonds, walnuts or chia seeds to your sargi. Adding a spoonful of ghee on your roti or cheela is also a good way to add healthy fats to the sargi.
