'Gadar-2' director Anil Sharma was in Jaipur on Friday. He said that 'Gadar-2' was an original hit. It became a hit with the general audience. Neither bulk tickets were purchased nor corporate bookings were made. Sunny Deol deserves a lot. After 'Gadar-2' they are getting that too. I am very happy about this. He said about his son Utkarsh – he is a professional actor. During the lockdown, he showed me the cinema of Satyajit Ray. He is a very hardworking actor. Anil Sharma's exclusive conversation with Frontpage Insights…

Anil Sharma also met fans at a restaurant located on Jaipur's Airport Road.

Question: Tell us about the film Vanwas, what kind of film is it and what kind of experience is it going to give? Anil Sharma: Vanwas is a family film. After 'Gadar 2' everyone told me that you should make a big action film, why are you making Vanwas? Nana Patekar also said the same. I said then that today families have become very nuclear. Every old person is a forest dweller in his own home. He sits alone. As soon as you enter the house, ask about Babuji's health and leave within two minutes. Therefore, realizing that family is a part of our life.

Question: Ramji's exile was 14 years, how long was this exile and what will be seen in it? Anil Sharma: See, that was the exile of Treta Yuga. In it, the son goes into exile to fulfill his father's promise. Nowadays sons are sending fathers into exile. This is Kaliyuga, there is a difference of ages. If there is no family, there is nothing. That's why I made this family film. When the movie ends, the first thing you call your father when you come out.

Anil Sharma has directed Ghadar and Ghadar 2 films. He has given many hits with the Deol family.

Question: Your son Utkarsh Sharma is in the lead role in the film, how do you see the father-son duo turning into an actor-director duo on the sets? Anil Sharma: When Utkarsh is in front of us as an actor, we act as a director. Such is the director-actor relationship. He is very professional. Utkarsh is a professional actor. Who have come from America after study and training.

I am also a highly professional director. At home, our relationship is like a loving relationship between father and son. Lockdown He showed me the cinema of Satyajit Ray. I saw this movie when I was in the early days of my career. At that time I did not know Bengali. Now he showed me the whole movie.

Question: How did you convince Nana Patekar, who is now a bit away from Bollywood? Anil Sharma: Nana Sahib is a bit of a forester type of person. Until they get the script right. It doesn't work. When I spoke to Nana Sir about this topic, he immediately said yes. He worked very hard.

Nana Sir has a great contribution in his character in this film. People have seen more of Nana Patekar in memes. People have never seen Nana Patekar's level of acting till date. Today's audience will see why Nana Patekar is such a great actor?

Question: After the release of 'Gadar 2', it was being said that Anil Sharma and Sunny Deol also had tears in their eyes. Can you tell me about it? Anil Sharma: Yes, that's right. Tears come to your eyes when God makes you pass the test. Those are tears of happiness. It is quite true that on the day of release i.e. 11th August at 7:30 in the morning I called Sunny sir for the first time while he was watching the review. My wife was also with me. All three of us had tears in our eyes during that call. Sunny sir told me – this has been amazing.

Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma.

Question: After the success of Gadar, you told Sunny that you are an actor who can take Rs 50 crore for a film, today you have proved that too? Anil Sharma: Sunny sir is very deserving of it. There is a business community, some studios look at how much business your previous films have done. You get paid accordingly. The studio is also in its proper place. If you are earning only Rs.2. You will get that much and if you are earning 100 rupees then you will get that much. It is true that Sunny sir got what he deserved after 'Gadar 2'. I am very happy about them.

Question: How was your experience with 'Gadar' and 'Gadar-2'? Anil Sharma: I have seen the same atmosphere in both the films. 'Gadar 2' has been an original hit. To make it a hit, we neither bought bulk tickets nor did any corporate bookings. Common audiences came to watch the film. Our ticket rate was also kept at 200 to 250 rupees. If we booked tickets for 500 to 600 rupees. Our film does not earn 700 crores. Our film would have earned more than a thousand crores.

Question: Everyone is talking about 'Gadar 3' now, so where will it start and when will it hit the audiences? Anil Sharma: Now we are talking about the movie 'Vanwas'. After this we will join the preparations for 'Gadar 3'. His story is being worked on. We will definitely take Tara and Jeet's story forward.
