Actor Sudhanshu Pandey of TV show 'Anupama' fame has been part of the film and television industry for 24 years. In 1996, he started his career with the show 'Beta'. The actor, who quit the show 'Anupama' a while ago, is now voicing the character of 'Hulk' for Audible's podcast series 'Marvel's Westlanders-Doom'.
Sudhanshu Pandey shares his experience of joining this big project with Frontpage Insights-
Q- Who is your favorite Marvel character? How did you get the offer for this audio series? Answer- I have watched all the Marvel movies and series. Both my kids are huge fans of this universe, because of them I have also watched all the projects of this popular banner. Also, the character of 'Hulk' has been my favorite. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to voice this character through this series of Audible.
I relate to the Hulk character the most. That's why I got this audio book offer. I got this offer through one of my friend Rudra. In today's times when people don't have time to watch any project at leisure, this kind of audio book series takes them to a different world without the visuals. I figured I had a good chance to try a new experiment, so why not take advantage of it.
Q- Did you watch the Hindi dubbing movies in terms of voicing the Hulk? Answer- I have not referred to the Hindi dubbing films of the Marvel series to voice this character. I have voiced it in my own way which the audience will know by listening. The rest is further enhanced by mixing and background effects. It is a big challenge for an actor to make a character his own which the audience has seen and heard in a different voice, so I approached dubbing like a blank piece of paper. Whatever style I have in it, I have put effort into it. I did my best to make my voice sound like the Hulk was pissed right now. I hope people like it.
Q- Have you received offers for any other Hollywood projects? Answer- After voicing the character of Hulk in this series, there have been no offers for any other projects so far, but I'm sure there will be offers for more such characters after this one. My only Jackie Chan starrer Hollywood film 'The Myth', for which I lent my voice. No offer received since then. In the future, I plan to work more with Hollywood. Apart from the Hulk in Marvel, I really like the character of Iron Man. I think if such a role is offered I would definitely want to do it.

Q- What was the reason for getting into the character? Answer: The first character I played after returning from 'Band of Boys' was 'Singh Is King'. This was me working again with Akshay, before this I made my film debut with him in 'Khiladi 420'. When my manager approached me for 'Singh Is King', I asked him, are you crazy for calling me for the role of the character? Then he told me that this is a big film, all the characters are very important. Then I went to meet Anees Bazmee and he explained to me. Also said that apart from Akshay, your character is the only one who also has a personal love angle as to why he became a criminal. Why is his family away from him?
Q- What kind of character would you like to play next? Answer- Now I want to play a character like 'Joker'. Today the definition of a hero has changed. Character Roleplay means that you play different characters. Earlier heroes used to do one thing – do good, think good and be good, but nowadays heroes and villains are all mixed up, even in Anupama my character was Vanraj Grey. Now things are getting more real. Now there is God in man and Satan in man.

Q- Do you want to discover something new? Answer : There is no end to discovering new things in the rest of your career. I feel like I haven't even started yet. I want to play such characters that people will remember them for a lifetime. Like these days I got a lot of appreciation for Vanraj's character. My all time favorite character is 'Joker'. Which I would definitely love to play if I get a chance.
Q- Have you ever regretted leaving a project or a character? Answer- We have done other good and bad things throughout our lives but we have never regretted leaving a film or a character. I believe we learn from every mistake. Whatever I am today is because of my mistakes or because of my decisions which I consider to be right. I think my career so far has been very balanced, even if it hasn't rocketed but it was my own choice. I have always worked on my own terms, never taken any shortcuts, never made any compromises. My next project will be for OTT.
