After Raj Kapoor, Subhash Ghai became the second 'showman' of the cinema
The entry was not given in the studio 'When I came to an acting course from FTI, people did not allow me to enter the studio. It was said that only through training could be an actor. I was also asked to stand outside the studio. People used to say that I didn't have a film background, no one knows. In those days I was traveling on a train and bus. Waiting for hours outside his office to meet the producer. There was a different conflict at the time. '
Conflict in life never ends 'There will be struggles in every step in your life. At the beginning of my career, there were a variety of conflicts and today's conflicts are different. Our struggle today is to talk to the media. Life is a new fight for every step. When you begin to love the conflict, the conflict will give you a hug. The conflict will become a habit and nature. It can be easily won. '
Starting with a small role in the industry 'When he came to the industry, his career began with small roles. He performed some big roles in 'Aradhana' and 'Umang'. He also became a hero in 5-6 films. When I was acting, I realized that the line that was written was written by someone else. The director is presenting me. Lighting, makeup and costumes are done by others. Someone else sings, I'm just lip-signing. I'm called a star. I live in my illusion. I'm just a part of the whole creation. '
I was bored of acting 'Performing art is a great art. It is also credited. I was always saddened why I was not on this creative side? Gradually, the acting began to get bored. Started writing his stories. I wrote 6-7 script. He gave scripts to the top directors on which the films were made. The 7th script was from the film 'Kalicharan'. No one liked the script. A producer liked it and he asked why you didn't direct him yourself? '
Even after becoming a director, Subhash Ghai was often seen in a glimpse of his films.
'This is how I started the direction' 'I was waiting for this opportunity. I directed 'Kalicharan'. The film was a technically and commercial hit. From there the new career began, but the kind of films I wanted to make were made only for festivals. I love Satyajit Ray's films. '
Then selected a commercial film After making 'Kalicharan' I was thinking what kind of films I should make – art or commercial. I thought that whatever films I do, I should do it with enthusiasm. I just thought about commercial cinema. I have tried to show art through it. For 30 years I have been going to the Cannes Film Festival every year. I watch the films of the festival every time. My inspiration is great directors. I use their good things in my commercial films. '
Market pressure remains even after success Even after doing a successful film like 'Kalicharan', there was a pressure of market when I made a 'debt'. People did not understand which film had been made. The 'debt' did not last for two weeks. My friends used to say that the film is 10-15 years ahead. However, the film later made a good money. '
Write the story of 'Joggers Park' after coming from FTI 'After coming from FTI, I wrote the story of the film 'Joggers Park'. At that time the art cinema was on my mind. A 65 -year -old retired judge falls in love with a 22 -year -old modern girl. This was very shocking at that time, but when the film was made in 2003, people chose it. I didn't direct that film. I called FTI's boy Anant Balani and handed over the film. Similarly, the film 'Rahul' was directed by Prakash Jha. There were many topics that I did not direct myself. '
The villain had to be with a negative name before The plot of 'villain' was initially 'negative'. Initially I wanted to make this film with the 'negative' title. I was in America at that time. A Ashok Amit Raj of mine advised me to make me in English. When I started working there, I realized that I couldn't work in an American system. I came back to India and thought of making it like an art cinema. '
The younger Patekar was contacted for the film 'I contacted the younger Patekar for the art cinema. At that time the story of the film was a trip between Pune and Mumbai. The description of the story was different, but there was no song. There was only one song in the background. She was a very simple film in her own. When I told the writer's story, he inspired me to make a commercial film. '
Many stars wanted to roll the villain Many stars were interested in Sanjay Dutt's character in 'villain'. I wanted to cast a person whose face reflected a lover, murderer, terrorist. I believe that the actor's real acting comes out only when he remains silent and his eyes say everything. I could see all this in Sanjay Dutt, which is why I chose him. '
'During the shooting, Sanjay Dutt also asked me why he liked me. I said because this face belongs to the villain. Remember, the villain has both 'Khal' and 'Nayak'
There is misunderstanding among people without watching a movie. When the 'villain' was released, a section of society opposed it. People said that Subhash Ghai was promoting terrorism. People called 'Choli Ke Pechh' the song as obscene, but when the film was released, the song was called the classic song of Indian cinema. Even today, this song is widely played in many functions. Some people cause misunderstandings without watching the film. '
