Jani Master, the choreographer of 'Stree 2' song 'I Nahi', was arrested on Thursday on charges of sexual harassment. A 21-year-old female choreographer has accused him of physical abuse. Jani Master was arrested by the Cyberabad Police in Goa.
The female choreographer has stated in her complaint that Jani Master physically abused her several times during outdoor shooting.
A complaint was filed against choreographer Jani Master on September 16 at Hyderabad's Narsinghi police station. A day later, sections under the POCSO Act were also added to the case.
The 21-year-old complainant has said that she has been sexually harassed for a long time. She was a minor when the abuse began.
42-year-old Jani Master is a well-known choreographer of Hindi and South cinema.
Jani Master's real name is Sheikh Jani. He choreographed the song 'Ai Nahi' for the recently released Bollywood film 'Stree-2', starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao. This song is currently in discussion. Apart from this, he has choreographed for Salman Khan in 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' and 'Radhe'. He also acted in recently released films like 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Ulza Jiya' and 'Khel Khel Mein'.
While in the South, Jani has so far worked with many big celebs including Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Chiranjeevi, Vijay, Dhanush and Pawan Kalyan. The choreographer has also choreographed songs for blockbuster hits like 'Pushpa – The Rise' and 'Baahubali'.
What is the whole matter? A 21-year-old girl has lodged a zero FIR against choreographer Jani Master alias Sheikh Jani Basha at Telangana's Cyberabad Raydurgam police station on Monday.
The girl accused Jani of exploiting her while shooting for different projects in Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad. He also abused her several times at his home in Hyderabad.
The girl said in her complaint that she met Jani Master at an event in 2017. Two years later, Jani offered her the job of his assistant choreographer, which she accepted.
After this, during a show in Mumbai, Jani sexually harassed her in a hotel. The girl alleged that Jani continued to harass and threaten her after this.
In the complaint, the girl also stated that Jani was constantly pressuring her for marriage. Not only this, he once took her to his house where Jani and his wife (Ayesha) beat her up.
The issue was first raised by Telangana Women Safety Wing (WSW) DG Shikha Goyal. It was he who suggested the victim to file a police complaint. Even before this, in 2015, Jani went to jail for six months due to a controversy.
