Sonu Sood said – 'Fateh' will prove to be a benchmark in action: The film has three and a half minutes of uncut action sequences, for which teams from Africa and Mexico were called.

Actor Sonu Sood is going to make his directorial debut with the upcoming film 'Fateh'. He has also written the story of the film. Sonu will also be seen in the lead role. The film will release on January 10, 2025.

Sonu Sood spoke to Frontpage Insights before the release of the film. According to Sonu, Fateh's action sequences will prove to be a new benchmark in the industry. People from outside were called in to design the action of the film.

Sonu said that the kind of films he wanted to be a part of are not happening. For this reason he took the responsibility of direction himself.

Question- You are seen in the role of a director for the first time, what is your feeling? Answer: “A lot of hard work has been done in the last two and a half years. Every aspect of the film, right from the writing, has been meticulously worked out. I had decided to make an action film which was never made. I wanted to make such a film that even the whole of India would proudly say that such an action film has never been made before.'

Question- Did you have to take up directing yourself because films worthy of you were not being made? Answer : 'Many times one has to write one's own story with one's own pen. The film I wanted was not being made. I felt like I couldn't do what I could do. Thinking this, I took the responsibility of making the film myself.'

Question- You also give a lot of input on dialogues in films, why don't you take credit for it? Answer: Only through dialogues can we properly connect with the audience. Dialogues should be such that even street children can understand and relate to them. After watching 'Fateh', you will keep speaking its dialogues in your personal life.

Question- You have also paid a lot of attention to the music of the film, where did you get your understanding of music? Answer : The music should be such that it matches the sequences of the film. In 'Fateh', I have sung for some of today's biggest singers like Arijit Singh, Honey Singh, Vishal Mishra, B Prak and Jubin Nautiyal.

Question- The action of 'Fateh' is being compared to international films, some people are comparing it to John Wick? Answer- 'I have done action films for so many years, but I always felt something was missing. Many times I used to wonder why we can't show international level action. Perhaps the biggest issue is production costs and vision. I have designed appropriate action scenes for 'Fateh'. Besides, the details of each action scene were also put down on paper.'

Three and a half minutes of non-stop action will be seen in the film. Not a single cut will be seen in it. For this, the action designing teams of big Hollywood films like 'Jurassic Park', 'Fast and Furious' and 'Captain Marvel' have been called and employed. Teams came from South Africa and Mexico to shoot the action scenes. I think the action of Fateh will prove to be a benchmark.'
