The movie 'Parinda' was released in 1989. In which Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar and Madhuri Dixit were seen in important roles. Recently Vidhu Vinod Chopra spoke about this film. He said that he wanted to cast Naseeruddin Shah in the film, but the two fell out. Not only that, because of a challenge, Jackie Shroff got this role.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra narrated an incident related to the film Parinda at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. He said, 'I wanted to cast Naseeruddin Shah for the role of Kishan in Parinda. But meanwhile, one of Naseer's well-wishers said that Kishan's character should also be accompanied by a female artist. But this could not happen. Due to this there was a fight between us. Naseeruddin Shah did not like this at all and told me that you did not talk to my well-wisher like that and a heated argument ensued between the two. After this he refused to do this role.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, 'This matter is not over here, Naseeruddin challenged me and said that if you are a good director, show it by acting with Jackie Shroff. His statement angered me and I also angrily told him that you see, I will. After this I went to the actor's house and told him the story of the film. He said yes and then he did this character.
Vidhu said that Jackie's biggest problem was that he couldn't get to the right place while doing the scene. He said that when a scene is shot, the actor has to stand in a certain place so that the camera can capture it properly, but Jackie always had trouble with this. To solve this problem, Vidhu asked his cameraman Binod Pradhan to light the scene in such a way that Jackie did not need any marks.
