Shariful Islam, accused of attacking Saif Ali Khan, was produced in Bandra court on Wednesday (January 29) after police custody was completed. The court has sent the accused to 14 -day judicial custody.
Here on Tuesday, the Mumbai police held a press conference on the attack on Saif Ali Khan. Additional Police Commissioner Paramjit Singh Dahiya said, “We have arrested Shariful Islam in this case, he is the true accused.” He said that we have many strong evidence against the accused.
Dahiya also said that some reports were claiming that fingerprints from Saif's house did not match Shariful's fingerprints. We are investigating fingerprints, we have not yet reached any conclusions.
Saif Ali Khan's house was attacked at 2am on January 16. He suffered injuries on his hands, spine and back. He was treated for 5 days at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai.

Arrested woman from West Bengal
On January 27, Mumbai police arrested a woman from Nadia district in West Bengal in connection with the attack on Saif. Sources say the investigation revealed that the SIM used by the accused Shariful, who was arrested from Mumbai for the attack, was registered in the name of a woman.
It was previously reported that police suspect that more than one accused could be involved in the attack on Saif Ali Khan.
