Pankaj Kapoor, Rajesh Kumar and Anjini Dhawan starrer 'Binny and Family' will release on September 20. Anjini is the granddaughter of famous filmmaker David Dhawan and niece of actor Varun Dhawan. She is making her debut through this film. In an interview given to Frontpage Insights, he talked about the selection and shooting process of his first film. Veteran actor Pankaj Kapoor spoke about the film's story and his son Shahid Kapoor's journey. Question- What is the most beautiful thing about the film? Why did you agree to work on this? Pankaj Kapoor- When I heard the story of the film, I felt that this is the situation in every Indian's home. Even though with time there may be distance between family members. Even if their thinking changes. Even if there is a generation gap, the connection is never broken. This film also tries to show the same. Rajesh Kumar- NRI will relate a lot to this film. The film is based on the backdrop of London. Houses in London are small. When more people suddenly move into a small house, it becomes challenging to manage. Then nature shines forth in lack. We see ourselves somewhere in some character of the film. Anjini Dhawan – After watching this movie you will feel like calling your parents and grandparents immediately. You will be happy and cry after watching the movie. This is the biggest beauty of the film. Question- Anjini tell me what is the similarity between your character Binny in the film and in real life? Answer- There are many similarities. My grandfather used to get mad at me for wearing ripped jeans. Was it said that anyone buys ripped jeans? Similarly, Binny also wears ripped jeans in the film. His grandmother sits to sew him. Q- How was it working with veteran actors like Anjini, Pankaj Kapoor and veteran actors like Rajesh Kumar? Describe the atmosphere of the set? Answer- I won't lie, I was a bit stressed at first. However, when we reached the sets, the atmosphere was quite chilly. There was much laughing and joking. In between Anjini's answer, Rajesh Kumar said, 'It will be the second day of the shoot. Pankaj sir was sitting on the bank. I thought of going to him and talking to him for a while. He called me and said that if you had worked with me 10 years ago, I wouldn't have talked like this. Now I'm a little more open than before. (Laughter) Question- Pankajji, did you really keep yourself so eloquent? Answer- No, it is not. I just didn't talk much during the shoot. I also didn't want to bother others by talking too much. After taking my shot, I would sit in the corner and prepare for the next shot. I did a show called 'Jaban Sambhal Ke'. There were about 104 episodes. A foreign actor was working in it. When we were working for a year, everyone was asked to sit down and share their experiences. The foreign actor then said that it took us a year to bring Pankajji's chair from there to here, this is our biggest shooting experience.' Q- Anjini, has there been any suggestion from uncle Varun Dhawan and grandfather David Dhawan? Answer: Before the shoot, the one advice everyone had was to be honest with your work. Do what you want to do with your heart. Nothing will ever happen to you if you are honest. Q- How is your relationship with your father and children now? Pankajji, tell me? Ans- My father was my special friend. To this day I have never had a better friend than him. I could talk to him about every point of life. I became an actor because of my father. He was very happy when I told him that I wanted to be an actor. He said that I am proud of my son, because at the age of 18 he knows what to do. I have maintained similar relationships with my children. My children can also talk to me about any topic. If I don't understand something, I ask my kids about it without any hesitation. There is no shame in this. Question- Pankaj ji, how do you see Shahid Kapoor's journey as a father? Answer: Whatever Shahid has done, he has done it with his own hard work. He never took help from anyone. He had decided from the beginning that he wanted to achieve a position on his own and not under the influence of his father. Apart from a few early projects, he has made a very good selection of films. Today I am proud of my son for achieving so much at such a young age.
