Rajinikanth's son-in-law sues Shah Rukh's heroine: 'Dhanush Vs Nayantara' film footage dispute reaches court; Accused of visual theft of 3 seconds and 10 crore legal notice

Megastar Rajinikanth's son-in-law and South actor Dhanush's company has filed a case in the High Court against Nayantara, her husband Vignesh Sivan and their company that produced the documentary 'Nayantara: Beyond the Fairytale'. The Madras High Court has heard preliminary arguments from both sides, after which it has sought a response from the actress on the legal notice.

Dhanush's 'Wonderbar Films Pvt Ltd' has worked with Nayantara, Vignesh and his 'Rowdy Pictures Pvt Ltd'. The petition filed in the High Court said that the accused have used some scenes from the actor's film 'Nanum Rowdy Dhan' in the Netflix docu-drama without permission.

The court sought a reply from Nayantara on the legal notice Dhanush's company also sought permission to file a suit against Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, which the court granted. Through this company, OTT platform Netflix invests in content in India. Los Gatos is a Mumbai based company. The Madras High Court has heard the preliminary arguments of both the parties. The court has directed Nayanthara to respond to this legal notice in the next hearing.

Nayantara made many accusations against Dhanush The case has been registered at a time when Nayantara has leveled a series of allegations against Dhanush and his production company over the past few weeks. Nayantara claimed that she sought permission from Dhanush to use footage from the film, which was not granted. The actress also said that Dhanush sent a legal notice demanding Rs 10 crore when he used three seconds of BTS footage in the documentary instead of using footage from the film.

What is the whole matter? Nayantara sought permission from Dhanush for the songs and visuals from her film 'Nanum Rowdy Dhan' for her documentary 'Nayantara: Beyond the Fairy Tale'. But Dhanush refused them permission and later sent a legal notice of Rs 10 crore to the actress for allegedly plagiarizing just 3 seconds of visuals after watching the trailer of the documentary. It is to be noted that Nayantara herself was the lead actress in the film 'Nanurum Rowdy Dhan'.

Nayantara's documentary will be released on Netflix Nayantara's documentary 'Nayantara: Beyond the Fairy Tale' will release on 18 November on Netflix. Recently its trailer was launched. The documentary will show the ups and downs of Nayantara's life. The documentary will also feature her love story with Vignesh Sivan, which started on the sets of 'Nanum Rowdy Dhaan'.
