Mahima's face was damaged in a road accident: Actress said, I told Ajay Devgan to keep it a secret; It was feared that the industry would boycott

These days Mahima Chaudhary is busy preparing for her comeback film 'The Signature'. She is making a comeback with this film after eight years. Meanwhile, in an interview, Mahima talked about the road accident she had during the shooting of the film 'Dil Kya Kare' in 1999.

On the last day of the shooting of the film 'Dil Kya Kare', Mahima was on her way to the location when her car was hit by a truck. Mahima's face was seriously injured in this accident.

Mahima said that after the accident, she requested her co-star Ajay Devgan and director Prakash Jha to keep it a secret, fearing a film industry boycott.

Dil Kya Kare was released in 1999.

Mahima said, 'When I had the accident, I didn't realize how many injuries I had on my face. One day I saw myself in the bathroom mirror. Before that I used to tell Prakash Jha that let's shoot as the doctors have already treated me. So he said no, wait now. Then when I looked at my face in the mirror, I realized that my face had become very ugly. Then I told Ajay Devgan and Prakash ji that please don't tell anyone about this that all this happened to me. I was worried how I could save my career with such a face. No one involved in the making of the film shared this with anyone, when I shared the story people came to know.'

Mahima further said, 'It was a very difficult time because I was very young then. Ajay kept telling me that everything will be fine after the surgery but I didn't listen to him. I started thinking about other career options. Even today one of my eyes is smaller than the other. So I don't face the camera, I always try to hide my face from some angle.'

Debuted from abroad Mahima had a brilliant career from 1997 to 2002. During this period, he acted in several hit films like 'Pardesh', 'Daag: The Fire', 'Dhadkan' and 'Kurukshetra'. But after this most of her films were flops and after 2006 she almost disappeared from the screens.

After marrying Bobby Mukherjee in 2006, Mahima gave birth to a daughter in 2007. After almost 4 years i.e. in 2011, Mahima and Bobby got separated. Both got divorced in 2013.
