The Rajasthan High Court heard the ST-SC case against Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty on Thursday. A case related to Shilpa Shetty has been dismissed by the court under the ST-SC Act, while Salman's case has been kept pending.
What was the whole matter? In the year 2017, Ashok Panwar filed a complaint against Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty under the ST-SC Act at the Churu Police Station in Rajasthan. Section 157A of IPC was imposed on him. There were allegations that Shilpa had misused the word 'Bhangi' in an old interview, which insulted the Valmiki community and also hurt the sentiments of the people of the community. Salman Khan was also present along with Shilpa in this interview.
In a hearing held on Thursday, a single bench of Justice Arun Moga dismissed the case against Shilpa Shetty, saying that such a complaint cannot be filed without a preliminary investigation. The matter should have been thoroughly investigated before filing the complaint. The court also said that there was no concrete evidence that such a word was used to harm or insult anyone.
After the complaint was filed in 2017, Shilpa Shetty also apologized.
Shilpa Shetty's lawyer said in his argument during the hearing that the interviews for which the complaint has been filed against Salman Khan and Shilpa are different interviews. Shilpa's interview is from 2013, on which a complaint has been registered in Churu. The articles that were imposed on Shilpa were imposed in the year 2016, in fact Shilpa's interview is from 2013.
Although Shilpa Shetty's case has been dismissed by the court, Salman Khan's case is still pending.
