Pooja Banerjee is returning to TV once again after four years with a new mythological show. Finally played the character of Vaishno Devi in the mythological show 'Jag Janani Ma Vaishno Devi'. Now she is playing the lead role of Goddess Lakshmi in the new show 'Mata Lakshmi'.
Talking to Frontpage Insights, Pooja said, 'I always feel lucky because I have been chosen to play such characters. We never see God, so it's a bit difficult to play him. It is a great opportunity for me when I am often chosen for such a role. People have liked my work before, that's why I get such roles.
Pooja also spoke about the 'Hari Om' platform, which exclusively showcases content based on Indian culture and Vedas. Pooja called it a great initiative for the mythological show and said, 'Nowadays people are moving more towards OTT platforms. Through this platform we can connect the new generation with Indian mythology. It is a simple and effective way to keep people engaged with our culture. I think this is very important for the future.
When Pooja was asked if she felt a special connection after playing the role of Goddess Lakshmi, she said, 'To be honest, it's not just for special days. God is always with us, and it feels good to know that. We get to learn a lot from them. People think that it is only a religious subject, but it helps to understand many aspects of life. If you understand Indian mythology properly, you can learn a lot about life. It makes you wiser.
Pooja has a four year old son. On balancing her personal and professional life, Pooja said, 'This is a very difficult question. Trying to maintain a balance is very challenging. I always feel guilty when I leave my baby and go to work. Every mother wants her child to be proud of her one day. This is my attempt. That's why I try to give time to my child along with work and keep my relationship with him strong.
Pooja said, 'I always think about Sridevi's characters, especially the characters in 'Sadma'. That character is close to my heart. If such a film is made, I want to be a part of it. Sridevi's acting has always inspired me.
