Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan on Monday termed 'Pushpa-2' actor Allu Arjun's arrest as appropriate. However, he also said – Allu Arjun is not entirely responsible for the death of a woman in a stampede during the premiere of the film on December 4. He was talking to reporters in Mangalagiri. There were reports of a tug-of-war between Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections this year.
Before the election, Allu went to Nandyal seat in support of YSR Congress Party MLA Silpa Ravichandra Kishore Reddy. Pawan Kalyan won the election from this seat and became the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh. After this there were reports of a sour relationship between Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun, though the latter denied it.
Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 in this case. He was released in the night after receiving interim bail from the Telangana High Court. The regular bail hearing was scheduled to take place on Monday, but the Nampally court in Hyderabad has adjourned the Monday hearing till January 3.

Allu Arjun's grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah was also a Telugu actor. He has four children. Allu Arvind, Surekha Kodinala, Nava Bharti and Basant Lakshmi. Allu Arjun is the son of producer Allu Arvind.
NDA member Pawan praised the Telangana Congress CM Pawan Kalyan is part of the BJP-led NDA. BJP termed Allu Arjan's arrest as wrong. BJP leaders alleged that Allu Arjun had refused to campaign for the Congress, hence being dragged into the defection controversy. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said in the assembly – Allu Arjun was careless and did not come out of the theater and did a road show despite getting the news of death.
Responding to Reddy, BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that the Congress should not politicize such issues. Telugu films have given Indian cinema worldwide recognition, but some people want to bring it down to earth.
Thakur said that recently actor Allu Arjun got the National Award and actor Chiranjeevi got the Lifetime Achievement Award, but instead of supporting the industry, the Congress is creating controversy.
Amidst all this, Pawan Kalyan praised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He said- Revanth has taken a good decision by becoming CM. It would be wrong to say that he is taking revenge from the actor. Allu Arjun and CM Reddy were together at an event. Allu Arjun forgot to mention CM's name in his speech.

'Pushpa-2' team gave ₹2 crore to the victim's family The Pushpa film team has donated Rs 2 crore to the family of a woman who lost her life in a stampede during the screening of Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad. This information was given by Allu Arjun's father Allu Arvind. He said that Allu Arjun had given Rs 1 crore, while Pushpa's director Sukumar and Maitreyi Production House had given Rs 50 lakh each.
