Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal's debut film 'Girls Will Be Girls' has recently released on the OTT platform. The film has some intimate scenes, which are attracting the attention of the audience.
Recently, during a conversation with Frontpage Insights, the film's lead actress Preity Panigrahi said that initially her parents were a bit worried about the scene. However, when he saw the film on the screen, he was completely enthralled.
'Mom and Dad explained that the crew was mostly women' When I told my parents about the intimate scenes in the film, they were a bit worried at first, says Preeti. Dad asked me – you already knew everything didn't you? Without being told something else later? I explained to him that these scenes are not mine but part of my character. Strict security would be maintained on the sets, especially since most of the crew were women, such as the DOP and the editor. My sister also explained to mom and dad.
When mom and dad came to the set and saw the professional environment, they became completely comfortable. Now his happiness knows no bounds. After the release of the film, papa watched it four times and tells everyone to watch my daughter's film. Seeing their happiness makes me feel that I have made the right decision.
At first I didn't know anything about the film This is Preeti's debut film. Talking about the process of getting the film, he said, 'When I finished college, a friend of mine who was interning with a casting director asked me to audition for this project.
In the audition I had to answer some questions like – What kind of student were you in school? Or tell an interesting story. I recorded and sent my introduction in front of the camera. After this I was sent two parts of the script, which I recorded with changes and then sent back.
After some time I got a message from casting director Dilip Shankar sir that my audition was good. Until then I didn't know who was behind the project, who the director was or what the story was about. Then sir said that the director is Shuchi Talati and he has given the script.
I live with my parents, but I am independent Preity further said, 'When I met director Shuchi Talati, he asked me, how independent are you and can you take your own decisions? I told them that I just finished college, live with my parents, but yes, I am independent.
After this he told me that there will be some intimate scenes in the film. After hearing this I read the script and showed it to my mother and sister. I loved the script, and seeing Richa Chadha made me believe that this good project is in hand.
'If I have doubts about a project, I consult them' On the experience of working with Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, Preity said, 'Richa and Ali are not only good actors but also great producers. It is always chosen for strong and impactful projects.
During the shoot, he had complete faith in me and cleared all the decisions by the director, so that I did not face any kind of problem. After the film was over, Richa and Ali joined us as we went to Sundance and other festivals. Even today, I consult him whenever I have doubts about a project.
