Film industry veteran writer Javed Akhtar recently spoke about his drinking habit. He said that he was addicted to alcohol. Due to which he took many wrong decisions in his life. He said that if he had not been an alcoholic and fulfilled his responsibilities well, things would have been different. In the third episode of Chill Shesh, Javed Akhtar said, 'I have wasted a lot of time drinking alcohol. I was an alcoholic. I gave up alcohol permanently on July 31, 1991. I think I wasted at least 10 years just drinking. If I had used that time properly, things would have been different today. Javed said, 'I regret the breakup of my first marriage. I could not save that relationship because of my reckless thinking and drinking habit, because when you are drunk you take decisions without thinking. Fight over things that aren't even that big. I have made all these mistakes. Javed continued, 'I would like to advise the youth that if you are drinking alcohol, give it up, because today when I look at my life, I feel that I have not done anything wrong in my life except drinking alcohol. Javed Akhtar married Honey Irani in 1972, with whom he has two children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. After joining the film industry, he met Shabana Azmi. Javed divorced his first wife Honey Irani to marry Shabana. However, even after the divorce, both of them raised their children together.
