Murder Accused Actor Darshan Found Smoking Cigarette In Jail: 7 Officials Suspended; CM orders to shift to another jail in Karnataka

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudipa, who is lodged in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in the case of fan Renukaswamy's murder, is once again in the news. Recently, a picture of the actor from jail surfaced, in which he is seen drinking tea and smoking cigarettes with 3 people. After the controversy over this, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ordered the immediate shift of 26 artists to other jails. DGP Malini Krishnamurthy was asked to visit the jail and submit a full report on the case. DGP suspends 7 officials DGP visited the jail and suspended 7 officials of Parappana Agrahara Jail. These include Jailor Sharan Baswa, Prabhu S Khandelwal, Assistant Jailor LS Thippeswamy and Srikanth Talwar, Head Warden Venkappa Kodati and Sampath Kumar Kadapatti and Warden Basappa Kelly. The Home Minister said – after receiving the report, further action will be taken by the State Home Minister G. Parameshwara said, 'I have asked for a detailed report on this matter. Seven suspended officials have been held guilty in this case. Senior jail officials will be transferred and further action will be taken after receiving the report. Now this doubt also arises in the mind whether he is in jail or not. He should be treated like any other normal inmate, but here it looks like he is sitting in a resort. Actor Darshan in jail since June 11 Darshan has been in jail since June 11 on charges of murdering 33-year-old fan Renukaswamy. In January 2024, Kannada actress Pavitra Gowda celebrated her 10th anniversary with Darshan. This led to controversy in their relationship as Darshan was already married. Renukaswamy was very angry with this news. He was constantly messaging Pavitra to stay away from Darshan. Initially Pavitra ignored his messages, but later Renukaswamy started sending objectionable messages and threatening her. After this Pavitra instigates Darshan to kill Renukaswamy. Also asked to punish him. With the help of his associates, Darshan kidnaps Renukaswamy. All took him to the godown. Where he was tortured before being killed. According to the police, Darshan and his accomplices beat Renukaswamy severely in the godown, resulting in his death. Darshan's friends whose clothes were stained with blood after the murder. He went to a nearby Reliance store and bought new clothes and changed there. Police found Renukaswamy's body on June 9. Renukaswamy's body was found on June 9 near an apartment in Bengaluru's Kamakshipalya area. When the police investigated the area around the crime scene, they saw Darshan and Pavitra leaving the crime scene in the CCTV footage. Both mobile numbers were active in the same area from 11 pm to 3 am. After this, Darshan and Pavitra were arrested on June 11. 19 people including Darshan and Pavitra are behind bars in this case.
