Mukesh Khanna talks about Feroze Khan's fatherhood in 'Yalgaar': Said- I became a joke in the industry when I became the father of an actor 10 years older

'I was ignored at the film premiere' Mukesh Khanna said, 'Me and Feroze Khan had a falling out when he didn't call me on stage for the premiere of the film. After that incident I began to ignore Feroze Khan. But when we met at Sanjay Khan's daughter's wedding, Feroze Khan noticed that I was ignoring him. Then he came and met me and I told him that I was a witness to whatever happened during the premiere of the movie 'Yalgaar'. So he told me Mukesh, I was tensed and out of my mind.'

'People don't accept father's role' The actor said, 'Then I told him that sir, people didn't accept me in the role of your father. On this he told me that I have taken you because of the image of your paternal grandfather (Bhishma). Hearing his reply I had nothing to say and remained silent.'

'Earlier I rejected the film' Mukesh Khanna further said, 'I rejected the film offer. But then someone from Feroze Khan's team approached me. He told me that you will be a commissioner in the film. You are working with a don, played by Kabir Bedi. While Feroze Khan will play the role of an inspector, who is also your son. But at that time only one thought was running in my mind that I don't want to do this film. However, after listening to the second narration, I said yes to the film.'

The film was also among the 9th highest grossing films of that year. All the songs of this film were hits. But one song became a superhit, titled 'Akhir Tumhe Aana Hai, Jara Der Lagegi'.
