Mithun Chakraborty recently spoke about his film career. He said that in the initial stages he had to suffer a lot because of his colour. No big heroine was willing to work with him. In such a situation, Zeenat Aman supported him. Both worked together in the film 'Takdeer'. After this he made a new beginning.
During a conversation with NDTV, Mithun Chakraborty said, 'I won the National Award for my very first film. After this I started to think myself great. I started introducing myself to legendary actor Al Pacino. Then the producers showed me the reality and removed me from all the films. Then I realized I was making a mistake. After this my struggle started.
Mithun said, 'There was a time when all the big actresses refused to work with me. But even after this I never gave up. I decided that if I had to lose, I would fight. But I will not accept such defeat. However, there was one actress who supported me, none other than Zeenat Aman.
Mithun Chakraborty said, 'In 1983, Bridge Sadana was making the film 'Takdeer'. He had decided that Mithun was his hero, so Brij told Zeenat ji, Look, this boy is very good. Zeenat ji said, she is very beautiful and dances well. I will work with them. After this I had a fresh start again. Gradually all the big actresses started signing films with me. I will always be grateful to Zeenat Ji.
Let us tell you that after the 80s, Mithun continued to climb the ladder of success. He rose to fame with the 1982 film Disco Dancer. The film and its songs were more popular in Russian countries than here. The film was a huge success in Russia, then known as the Soviet Union.
