Many producers wanted to change 'Lagaan' script: Ashutosh got advice, don't play a match in climax, Bhuvan slaps British officer

In an interview, Aamir Khan talked about the superhit film 'Lagaan' of his career. Aamir said that he was first approached by director Ashutosh Gowariker for the film but later Aamir rejected the film. Nobody accepted the script of 'Lagaan' Aamir continued, 'After my refusal, when Ashutosh took the film to several producers, some of them asked him to change the climax of the film. One producer even said that instead of playing cricket at the end of the film, Aamir's character Bhuvan should be shown killing a British officer. For a while, Ashutosh met several producers and actors but none fully accepted the script of 'Lagaan'. Aamir not only acted but also produced films. However, after many people rejected him, finally Aamir himself signed the film. He called Ashutosh and narrated the film while sitting with his parents. Aamir's parents had tears in their eyes during this narration. After this, Aamir not only acted in this film but also produced it.
