Singer Abhijit Bhattacharya has always been known for his outspokenness. Recently, in an interview, he called Mahatma Gandhi the 'Father of the Nation of Pakistan', which has created a controversy. Now a legal notice has been sent to him in this matter. Abhijit said that Mahatma Gandhi was not the father of India but of Pakistan.
According to media reports, Pune-based lawyer Asim Sarode has sent a legal notice to Abhijit Bhattacharya seeking an apology. Asim Sarode said that Abhijit Bhattacharya should issue a written apology for his statement. If they fail to do so, legal action will be taken against them.
The legal notice also said that Gandhi worked hard to maintain unity between Hindus and Muslims and spread the ideas of brotherhood. When there was talk of dividing India into two parts, Mahatma Gandhi said that if India is divided, it will be on my dead body. I will never accept partition of India as long as I live.
Know what is the whole matter? Abhijit Bhattacharya appeared on Shubhankar Mishra's podcast. Meanwhile, he said that musician RD Burman was greater than Mahatma Gandhi. Just as Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation, so RD Burman was the father of the nation in the world of music.
He further said that Mahatma Gandhi was not the father of India but of Pakistan. India was already India, but Pakistan was created. Mahatma Gandhi was mistakenly described here (India) as the Father of the Nation. He was the one who gave birth. The father was that, the grandfather was that, the younger one was that… everything was the same.
