King Khan and Aamir face off over Indian films' Oscar entries: Shah Rukh says – Films have to change format, Mr Perfectionist disagrees

Aamir Khan recently spoke about the struggles of Indian films at the Oscars. Before this, Shahrukh Khan has also spoken on this issue. Shah Rukh had said a long time ago that if we want to win Oscars, we have to change the format of our films. However, Aamir Khan does not agree with Shahrukh's opinion.

Aamir does not agree with Shahrukh's opinion Aamir said that he does not agree with Shah Rukh. In a conversation with BBC's Asian Network, Aamir said, 'No, I don't agree with Shah Rukh, I don't, because the film 'Lagaan' was 3 hours 42 minutes long and had 6 songs. Despite being such a long film, it got a nomination. To be nominated, members must like your film. The film 'Lagaan' proved that a film with many songs, which are also very long, can also get an Oscar nomination. Academy members have no problem with the film. According to me it depends on how good your work is and how much you are able to touch people's hearts.

Competition is tough for Indian films – Aamir Aamir further said that the Best International Feature category is the toughest category of Oscars. Because when you get into the Best Picture competition, there are limited films. So the competition becomes very tough. Because every country has its best movies in this category.

'One has to beat 1000 films to be selected' He further said, 'We make 1000 films every year in India, you have to beat the first 1000 films to get selected in India. Then you get to where there are 80 more movies. India doesn't get a nomination every year because films from Iran, Germany, France and the rest of the world come there.

Shah Rukh had said that we have to change In an old conversation, Shah Rukh had said that Lagaan was a combination of an art film and a commercial film. And it was a very well made film. This was the reason why the film was nominated for an Oscar. We have to change the format of our films. If I am invited to your party, I have to dress as per the dress code of that party. I can't play my two and a half hour and five song code, we have to change this.

'Missing Ladies' Gets Oscar Entry Aamir Khan's Lagaan is the last film to receive an Oscar nomination in the Best International Feature category. Since then, films officially sent by India for the Oscars have not received nominations. Currently, Aamir is promoting his production 'Lapata Ladies', which has got India's official entry for the upcoming Oscar Awards. Missing Ladies was released on OTT platform Netflix. Aamir's ex-wife Kiran Rao has directed the film.
