Karnataka government to challenge Darshan Thoogudeepa's bail: Spent 131 days in jail for Fan's murder; Bail was granted in the name of surgery

Troubles are mounting for Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudipa, who was arrested on charges of murdering his fan Renukaswamy in June. The actor was granted bail to undergo surgery on December 30 after spending 131 days in jail. However, now the Karnataka government is going to challenge the High Court's decision to grant bail.

According to sources in police officials, the Karnataka government on Monday appointed senior advocate Anil C. Nisha was appointed by the Karnataka High Court to challenge the bail granted to Darshan Thoogudeepa and others in the Supreme Court. The order has instructed the State Government Public Prosecutor to prepare the necessary documents for filing the SLP (Special Leave Petition). Senior advocate Siddharth Luthra has been appointed to lead the case on behalf of the Karnataka government.

Darshan Thoogudipa was arrested on June 11 on charges of murdering Fan Renukaswamy. A lot of strong evidence was also found against Darshan and his companions. Darshan's bail application was rejected several times in view of the evidence. A 1991 page charge sheet was framed against him. However, on 30 October his lawyer applied for bail citing back pain and surgery, after which he was granted bail on 30 October. Now on December 13, Darshan and all the main accused in this case have got regular bail.

Pictures of Darshan from the crime scene were revealed Bangalore police filed a chargesheet in the Renukaswamy high profile murder case on November 23 in the 57th CCH court, prepared under the supervision of ACP Chandan Kumar. In the charge sheet, the Bangalore police presented the photographs taken at the scene of Darshan's crime as important evidence. In the four pictures, Darshan is seen posing with co-accused Janadesh and Anukumar. There is also a jeep in the background of the pictures, which was used during the murder. The same jeep was also seen in the CCTV footage around the crime scene.

Accused of murdering a fan, the actor was seen leaving the crime scene On June 9, the body of an unidentified youth was found in a drain in Bengaluru's Kamakshipalya area. During investigation, the boy was identified as 33-year-old Renukaswamy, who worked in a medical store. The investigation into the murder led the police to the godown. Scanning the CCTV footage, Darshan Thoogudeepa and his girlfriend Pavitra Gowda were seen leaving the crime scene. Pavitra Gowda is also a Kannada actress. Darshan and Pavitra were arrested on June 11 after getting the CCTV footage.

Investigation revealed that the deceased was a fan of Renukaswamy Darshan Thoogudipa. He considered him ideal, but when actress Pavitra Gowda revealed in a social media post in January that she had been in a relationship with the married Darshan for 10 years, Renukaswamy was hurt. He did not want Pavitra to stay with Darshan. He often sent threatening messages to Pavitra. When Pavitra complained about this to Darshan, he took the help of the people who run her fan club. First, Renukaswamy was lured to the godown, where he was tortured and killed.

After the arrest, the police took Darshan and Pavitra to the spot.

According to the police, Darshan and his accomplices severely beat up Renukaswamy and electrocuted his private parts in the godown. Also, before killing Renukaswamy, it was Pavitra who hit him with a shoe. One of his ears was also cut off.

Darshan's friends whose clothes were soaked in blood after the murder. He went to the nearest Reliance store and bought new clothes and changed there. Those clothes have been recovered and forensic tests have been done. 19 people including Darshan and Pavitra were arrested in this case.
