Junaid Khan has revealed that if he was not Aamir Khan's son, he might not have got a job in Maharaj. However, Junaid also auditioned for this film.
Junaid was recently seen as a guest on NDTV's youth show. Here he shared his work experience so far. Junaid also said that he auditioned for Aamir's film Lal Singh Chadha. He said, 'Sometimes you get a chance, sometimes you don't. It is true that I gave some auditions before Maharaj. It could not be done at that time.
Junaid further said that yes, father had spoken about Lal Singh Chadha earlier. When I auditioned for it, they loved it. But due to the budget of the film, the film could not be made with a new actor. Due to this I did not get a chance to work in that film.
Junaid made his entry in Bollywood with the movie Maharaj
Junaid Khan made his Bollywood debut with Maharaj. This film was directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. It was produced under the banner of YRF Entertainment. Apart from Junaid, the film stars celebs like Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey and Sharwari.
The story of the film is based on a sensitive issue, so there was controversy over it. After this the film was released on OTT platform Netflix instead of theatres.
Aditya Chopra decided to cast in the film after watching the audition video.
Producer Aditya Chopra saw Junaid's one-year-old audition video. Junaid auditioned for his father Aamir Khan's film Lal Singh Chadha. Aditya Chopra liked Junaid's video a lot. After this he made up his mind to cast Junaid in the film.
In an interview given to Frontpage Insights, Junaid said, 'Aditya sir called me and gave me the script of Maharaj. That said, read the first half completely. He didn't react much when I told him. All that said, well done, let's get down to business.
Junaid also said that he currently has two films in the pipeline. He is doing a film under the banner of his father Aamir Khan's production house. South actress Sai Pallavi will be seen with him in this film. Apart from this, he will be seen in another film with Khushi Kapoor.
The film Lal Singh Chadha did a lifetime business of 61 crore rupees
Aamir and Kareena starrer Laal Singh Chadha, released in 2022, flopped badly. This film also faced a boycott. The film earned only Rs 11 crore on its opening day. Its lifetime domestic box office collection was Rs 61 crore 36 lakh.
It was a remake of the 1994 Hollywood film 'Forrest Gump'. The film was directed by Advait Chandan, while its adaptation screenplay was written by Atul Kulkarni.
