Indian female singers make history at Coldplay: Chris Martin wins fans' hearts with 'Jai Sriram' and 'Bumrah'; The stadium was packed with fans at the concert

The first concert of the Coldplay World Tour 2025 took place on Saturday at the DY Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai. The concert lasted for two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm. Meanwhile, the stadium was packed. More than 40 thousand people were seen at the concert. India's Jasleen Royal started the show. He sang songs like 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan', 'Ranza and Love You Zindagi'. Jasleen is the first Indian artist to open for a British rock band.

Some fans even thought that Bumrah would come on stage, but it didn't happen.

A Coldplay concert will be held at the same stadium in Mumbai on January 19 and 21. According to media reports, around 70 thousand spectators are expected to attend this 3-day concert.

After Mumbai, Coldplay will perform 2 more concerts in Ahmedabad. The show will be held on January 25 and 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Additional Ahmedabad tickets have been added to bookmyshow a few days before the concert.

This information has been shared on social media on January 15 on the official page of bookmyshow. The post reads – Limited tickets have been added for all shows in Coldplay Music of the Spears World Tour 2025 – Ahmedabad, India. Limited tickets for both the shows in Ahmedabad will go live from 6 pm today.

Earlier when the sale of tickets started on bookmyshow for Ahmedabad concert in the year 2024, all the tickets were sold within few minutes and the booking was full. Because of this, disgruntled fans say that concert organizers added extra tickets when they couldn't sell tickets in black.

Film-maker Karan Johar said through a social media post that despite the privilege, he missed out on booking the tickets.

Bhaskar did a sting and revealed that a ticket worth Rs 3,500 was sold for Rs 70,000.

Frontpage Insights's team conducted a sting operation to understand this black market of tickets. The sting revealed that the tickets were rigged on a large scale. Tickets that were not available on the site were easily sold outside for 10 to 15 times more. The situation was such that a ticket of 3500 rupees was available for 70 thousand rupees. There were some gangs in Mumbai, which sold tickets in black.

The actual ticket price for a Coldplay event can be understood from this graph. The most expensive ticket was 35 thousand rupees, which fraudsters were selling for 1 lakh 70 thousand rupees.

After Bhaskar's sting, bookmyshow filed a complaint

After Bhaskar's sting, the bookmyshow app filed a complaint against several people who were selling tickets at illegal high prices through Instagram and fake websites. The general manager of the app's legal department alleged that for several days he had been receiving complaints via e-mail that Coldplay concert tickets were being sold by fake websites for arbitrary amounts. He also had some screenshots, including the numbers and chats of about 27 people selling tickets.

Bookmyshow is also accused of fraud of Rs 500 crore

BYJM (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha) also lodged a complaint with EOW alleging fraud on Book My Show. bookmyshow was accused of money laundering and fraud of Rs 500 crore in the name of selling tickets.

It was alleged that tickets were given on first come first serve basis on bookmyshow. The app has created a special link for black marketing agents, through which they can buy tickets and sell them at higher prices. Ticket buyers were made to stand in virtual queues, due to which they could not book tickets. bookmyshow app has earned 500 crore rupees from this manipulation.

ED action on Coldplay's concert ticket scam

On October 25, 2024, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at 13 locations in 5 states of Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Punjab for black marketing of Coldplay tickets. Following this investigation, the agency registered a criminal case under various sections of the Money Laundering Act. ED seized mobile phones, laptops and SIM cards during the raid.
