Shruti Haasan is often in the headlines regarding her personal and professional life. In a recent interview, Shruti Haasan said that being born into a filmy family is often difficult, especially when your father is a big star. According to the actress, she even tried to hide her identity many times. However, later she realized that she could not imagine herself without her father Kamal Haasan.
Talking to Madan Gauri, Shruti Haasan said, People always ask me questions about my father. This has happened not once or twice, but many times. I used to think I am Shruti, I want my own identity. People used to look at me and say that she is Kamal Haasan's daughter. If someone had asked me, I would have said, no, my father Dr. Ramachandran, which was the name of our dentist. My name is Pooja Ramachandran. I chose this name myself.
Shruti Haasan said, It's not because my father is an actor or a famous person, but since childhood I felt that he was different from everyone. My sister and I were brought up by very stubborn people and it became our habit. I moved to Mumbai when my parents separated. I never liked staying here as Shruti. It was very difficult to be separated from his name when there were posters of Papa everywhere. Today I feel that Shruti does not exist without Kamal Haasan.
Shruti started her career in 1999. She is considered one of the leading actresses of South cinema. Shruti has worked in films like 'D-Day', 'Ramayya Vastavaiya', 'Gabbar Is Back', 'Welcome Back', 'Rocky Handsome'. She was also seen in the short film 'Devi'.
