'I want to do a biography of late actress Smita Patil': TV actress Rajshree Thakur says – She played every character with great sincerity

Rajshree Thakur, who made her mark in the character of 'Saloni', is currently playing the lead role in the TV show 'Bas Itna Sa Khwab'. Recently, during a conversation with Frontpage Insights, the actress shared some interesting things about her professional and personal life. He also expressed his desire to work in the biopic of late actress Smita Patil. Read some key excerpts from the conversation:

Initially, when you told home that you wanted to be an actress, what was your family's reaction? I come from a Marathi family, where priority was always given to education and a good job. A bank job was considered the most secure and respectable at that time. But I didn't have to do all this. When I said at home that I want to become an actress, father did not speak to me for several days. However, when they saw my work and the love I received from people, their thinking changed. Then the same father said, 'This is your true dream and you are doing very well whatever you are doing.' It was a big moment for me, which made my dream even more special.

Don't you ever fear focusing only on your family and putting aside your own happiness? I am also a mother of a very lovely daughter. It's definitely scary to see our daughter with what thoughts and ideas she might be influenced by. Today's generation is very aware, they have got exposure on YouTube and social media. It is very difficult to control children as nowadays even studies are done on mobile. I never felt that I should leave everything and focus only on my daughter.

My passion, my work, my dream are also important. If I am not happy myself, I cannot keep the family happy. My happiness is in my work, and why should I not do it? Avni's story in 'Bas Itna Sa Khawaab' is the same – she is not doing it for herself but for her home. His happiness lies in the happiness of his family.

Which Bollywood actress inspires you the most? I love Smita Patil's work. There was no artificiality in his performance, he played every character with utmost sincerity. If his biography is made and I get an offer to participate in it, I will definitely do it. There is much to learn from his work and life.

Have you also tried your luck in movies? After that, did you think of trying more films? Yes, I did a guest appearance in the Marathi film 'Hirakan', in which I played the role of Maharani Ji Suyara Bai. At that time, I was specifically approached for the role because director Prasad had seen my work in 'Maharana Pratap'. However, I deliberately did not try for any other film. The most important thing for me was the character. If I get a powerful role I will definitely do it. But my criteria would be what the character is. There is no restriction on acting in TV, theater or films. What is important to me is important character.
