'I thought it was my end': Manisha Koirala remembers cancer pain, writes to Princess of Wales about ordeal

Actress Manisha Koirala recently recalled the difficult time in her life when she was suffering from cancer. Manisha Koirala was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. The actress has now broken her silence on the physical and mental pain she went through at that time. Manisha visited the cancer charity's London office during her UK trip, where she met cancer patients and learned about the charity's efforts to help those affected by it.

The actress said, 'I want to use my voice not only to support cancer patients, but to raise awareness among those like me who need medical services and the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms of cancer. Having battled cancer myself, I know how different and challenging this battle can be. I believe it is important that we all take the initiative to make a difference for others.'

Manisha underwent treatment in New York The actress also spoke about her correspondence with the Princess of Wales. As reported by IANS, she said, 'I wanted to approach the Princess of Wales, especially because of my experiences. I am very happy to receive such a warm response from him and wish him good health.'

The mother gave a rudraksha garland to the doctor Manisha underwent treatment for 5-6 months in New York. He said, 'My mother took Rudraksha beads from Nepal after the Mahamrityunjaya Puja. It was given to the doctor to keep with him during the treatment. Don't know how they kept it together. After 11 hours the doctors said that the rudraksha beads had worked a miracle.

The doctor gave courage Manisha said, 'Chemo also started to have a positive effect on me. He introduced me to Vicky Makkar, a Punjabi-American doctor. He started my treatment and gave me a lot of courage. There were times when I would break down. All I saw was darkness, despair, pain and fear. She kept saying Manisha, you are getting well. Medicines are affecting you.

Manisha made a comeback with 'Hiramandi' On the work front, Manisha Koirala made her acting comeback this year with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed series 'Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar', in which she played the role of Mallikajan. Koirala and Sanjay Leela Bhansali reunited after 28 years for this period drama. Earlier, she also acted in the Netflix production film 'Lust Stories' and played the role of Nargis in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer film 'Sanju'.
