After 'Pushpa 2', the second film 'Mufasa: The Lion King' of Shreyas Talpade, who voiced the most popular character of Indian cinema, 'Pushpa Raj', is being released. The actor has dubbed the character of Timon in the film. Recently, Shreyas Talpade spoke to Frontpage Insights about this film. Meanwhile, he shared some special memories about his film 'Iqbal' and said that he did not think about commercial cinema while making this film.
I am a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan– Shreyas will hear the voice of Shahrukh Khan and his sons in the Hindi version of 'Mufasa: The Lion King'. Shah Rukh Khan dubbed the main character of the film Mufasa, Aryan Khan dubbed Simba and Abram dubbed the younger Mufasa. In a way, this has become Shah Rukh Khan's family film. Shreyas Talpade has dubbed the character of Timon in this film. He says- I am a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan. Very happy to be associated with this film.
Dubbing another character is not easy Shreyas Talpade has dubbed South cinema superstar Allu Arjun's films 'Pushpa' and 'Mufasa: The Lion King'. He says- I have dubbed for only two films, but the experience of dubbing in both these films has been completely different. We dub our films. It is very simple, but dubbing for someone else is not easy. While dubbing for 'Pushpa', one always had to keep in mind what the character would have thought at the time of shooting. The rest of the dialogues were to be said after understanding their expressions and emotions on screen.
The dubbing of the animated characters is completely different. Shreyas Talpade believes that dubbing animated characters is completely different. That said, dubbing has to be done in one's own style and language, capturing the tone of the original character. Care has to be taken to ensure that everyone understands the language. Mayur Puri has written Timon in Hindi in simple language, but he has added some sentences from his side in such a way that the Hindi audience can easily understand. We have tried to ensure that the dialogue reaches people effectively.
There is always pressure to perform well Shreyas Talpade says- The character of Timon was dubbed in 'The Lion King'. I knew about the character. It was a huge hit in 2019. In such a situation, the expectations of the viewers go up a bit. There is always pressure on us to perform well. So it is no less than a big challenge.
Timon led to 'Pushpa Part One' Shreyas Talpade entered the world of dubbing professionally with 'The Lion King'. He says- Timon's dubbing was my first experience as an artiste in the world of dubbing. It was Timon's character in the film that gave me the opportunity to dub for 'Pushpa Part One' and then 'Pushpa Part Two'.
Dubbing has now become a parallel industry Dubbing has now become a parallel industry due to regional films. Shreyas Talpade says – Basically, dubbing is also an art. This too had to be given an honorable place. Today, regional films are releasing all over India. Dubbing artists are benefiting from this. Dubbing artists have gained respect and people have come to know them by their names. Now this industry is also growing rapidly.
Iqbal is very close to my heart Shreyas Talpade started his career as a lead actor with Subhash Ghai's film 'Iqbal'. The film won the National Award.
