Mumbai Police has recovered the third part of the knife used to attack actor Saif Ali Khan. Accused Shariful threw it near Bandra Lake. Earlier, a part of the knife was recovered from the spot. At the same time, another part of the 2.5 inch knife was removed from inside the actor's body during the surgery.
After being discharged from the hospital, Saif Ali Khan met auto driver Bhajan Singh who took him to the hospital. Saif and his mother Sharmila also thanked the driver. Apart from this, Bandra Police recorded Saif Ali Khan's statement 6 days after the attack.
Saif Ali Khan was attacked on January 15 by breaking into Satguru Sharan's apartment. After which Saif himself reached the hospital, the actor was discharged on January 21 after treatment. After the attack, Saif has now moved to his old house in Fortune Heights instead of the Satguru Sharan apartment.

Mumbai Police arrested the accused Shariful late on the night of January 19. The investigation of this case has now been handed over to Ajay Lingukar instead of Sudarshan Gaikwad. No reason given for removal of IO.

3 revelations in the investigation so far
1. During police interrogation, the accused Shariful said that he had entered the Bollywood star's apartment on the night of January 15 with the intention of stealing. The eighth floor of the building is reached by stairs. After this he climbed to the 12th floor with the help of a pipe and entered Saif's flat through the bathroom window.
2. Accused Shariful said that he checked the ducts of several flats in the building, but all the ducts were sealed and as all the doors of other flats were locked, he could not enter other people's houses. Only Saif Ali Khan's backdoor was open in the entire building.
3. The accused said that he did not know that he had entered the house of Saif Ali Khan. After watching the news in the morning, he comes to know that he has entered the house of a big Bollywood actor. Police said CCTVs at the main entrance of the building were switched off, but private CCTVs of some flats were on.
4. The name of Saif Ali Khan's attacker was earlier revealed to be Vijay Das. But his real name is Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahjad and he is a Bangladeshi infiltrator.
Saif was discharged after 5 days
Saif was attacked with a knife on January 15 at around 2.30 am. Saif suffered severe neck and spinal injuries. Saif reached Lilavati Hospital by auto, where he underwent surgery and treatment.
Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday, 5 days after the attack. Saif Ali Khan reached home in about 15 minutes from Lilavati Hospital. Meanwhile, he was seen smiling and greeting people on the road. When he reached home, he himself got down from the car and went inside the building. Saif was seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and black glasses. A bandage was visible on his back.

Saif's security has been entrusted to actor Ronit Roy's agency According to media reports, Saif Ali Khan has changed his security team after this fatal attack. Now actor Ronit Roy's security agency will protect him. Ronit's firm has provided security to big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Barricading was done outside Saif's house.
