Celebrating Diwali for the first time in my new home: Ashnoor Kaur
Diwali always brings positive and joyous feelings. This year, I am shooting for Samundra Indori and am thrilled to celebrate with my new family. For me, Diwali means spending time with the ones you love. This time I am celebrating Diwali for the first time in my new home. We will decorate the house with lamps, eat sweets and get lost in the festive atmosphere. I stopped bursting crackers as a child, so this year I am planning to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali with love and light.
My wife makes many kinds of sweets: Rohitashva Gaur The most special ritual for me every year is to worship Lakshmi with my family. It is a sacred moment where we all gather to pray for health, prosperity and happiness. After the puja, the aroma of festive dishes permeates the house. My wife and daughters cook traditional dishes, and we all enjoy them together. My wife makes many sweets like my favorite Gujia. Helping others is also my priority during this time, be it in the form of charity or spending time with people who are away from family.
Purchased hand painted lamps from local artists: Neha Joshi Diwali has always been very close to my heart. We start preparing it in advance at home with our Marathi traditions. A special ritual is the morning Abhyanga bath, which is supposed to purify the body. We light lamps around the house to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. I always try to celebrate Diwali in an environmentally conscious way.
This year I bought beautiful hand painted lamps from local artists. For me, Diwali symbolizes the light within us, and spreading happiness should be in a way that doesn't harm nature. The most special thing about this festival is the taste of Marathi food. I love to make Purna Polly, Shakkarpara and Chevdo. It is my great pleasure to share this with family and friends.
Despite a busy schedule, I celebrate Diwali with family: Yogesh Tripathi Diwali is a special festival and I look forward to its arrival every year. Our preparations start with cleaning the house to welcome positivity. My family decorates the house with Divas, Rangoli and Roshni. The ritual of Lakshmi Puja is very special, where we all come together and pray for happiness and prosperity. After the pooja we burst some crackers and enjoy traditional sweets.
The most special part of Diwali is spending time with family, laughing and reminiscing about the year gone by. Despite a busy shooting schedule, I make time to celebrate with my family during Diwali.
